Anyone on this app working at Rapido? How much merit increment did you receive? Is it in the low single digit percentages? 
Merit increment was given as a possibility to make a good amount if company achieves profitability targets, but given the increment is so low, how many employees would actually strive for the company to reach profitability?

Apparently there was a decision to layoff 20% of workforce which was revoked at last minute by leadership. Good sign or not? Could signal lack of forethought among those at top. What do you guys think?

In this IT recession, where Rapido and many other organization hired IT employee at 5x-10x salary and now they are not able to pay because they are not growing. Due to which other teams like Marketing, Operations, Sales, Finance all are suffering because :
1. Company made policies that appraisal will be on variable based and only be given when company achieves EBITA +ve, if not no employees will get appraisal which is really frustrating. 
2. Outside, because of IT recession, no other companies are hiring for any field and due to this reason Rapido taking the advantage of employees of giving extra load of work with minimal employees , no salary increment because targets are high to achieve EBITA +ve. So, employees have no options left to do anything.


What and how to get rid of this situation and how to get better opportunity via referral?

Almost 50% of the org got no increments
People with "exceeds" rating got single digit increments
Only promotion cases have got early to mid double digit increments
Promotions have been significantly fewer this time, max people have been told to hold off their expectations of promotions for another year

The reasons cited were economic slowdown, other companies like Microsoft, Flipkart, swiggy, Amazon doing the same and cost cutting. I think things are getting toxic and the majority of employees have been left disappointed.

Appraisal Season '24: What was your last salary and what is your current salary?

This year, the increments in my company were fairly good, with an average of 21% and the highest being 30% in my team of 10 people. The average rating was 4/5. Given the current market situation, these increments can be considered decent. However, despite these figures, none of the team members seem satisfied. Last year’s increments were better, but still, this year’s numbers aren’t bad.

Considering our positive company culture and manageable work pressure, I’m curious to understand why the expectation might be so skewed. How much of an increment is generally enough to make employees happy? Were the increments really that bad, or is there something else at play here?

I'm working at payU payment from 2 years and from last two years they are giving the increments in single digit, is the market is bad ? Last year I got 4% increment I was informed by my manager that company is not doing good same has happened this year again I got only 4% incriment. In my team I have seen people are getting 8-10% also and in other team few have got 12% also, however I feel even 12% is the highest still it seems too low. is this is happening everywhere or it's just payU?

Folks, I wanted to make a prediction that most of us pretty much know already 

2023 our salaries haven’t grown at all. Across my group of friends at work and college, the average amount of increment I heard is close to 5%

I joined a start-up (SDE 1) after working in an IT service giant (one of the WITCH) for the past 2 years. There we didn't have any discussion regarding the amount of raise expected, they used to just assign us the percentage (peanuts) that they felt.

Here in the start-up I have heard that we have a say about how much % increase we are expecting post review cycle. I have some questions,

1. Do managers generally know about their subordinate's salary?
2. If not, then how do such discussions take place? Just based on % increment?
3. Or Only feedback is discussed with the manager and salary negotiation is done with HR (who knows my salary)?

In general HR's say we shouldn't discuss our salaries with our colleagues and at the same time they allow your manager to discuss the salary during appraisal.

A manager should only be allowed to tell %age increase, not the actual salary.

As a manager, would you share your salary with your reportee ? If not, why should you know their salary?

Either make salaries transparent, everyone knows each other's salary or nobody should know anyone's salary except HR.

For the first time in these many years, i have got a hike of only 7%, the reason stated is on going concerns in US market. But it is very difficult to digest the same as 2 years prior i got a hike of 26% and now only 7%. I feel being broke as giving an organisation your 5 years of handwork, 7% is nothing. Has anyone else faced this in 2023 ?
