💵 Rs 2 crore spent on Ads

I think we have to shift our startup idea. Not working anymore very low DAU 😞 with 0 engagement but total app downloads 100k+

Was asking for some advice on fundraising. Got to know if you are building something with no revenue, literally impossible to raise. He explained how hard it is even for the current founders and expecting 100s of startups to fail next year with talent going cheap due to all the layoffs. Very hard to think how to monetise B2C if people don’t even link their credit or debit cards with Apple Pay and Android for in-app purchases. Also for B2B Saas, it’s better to build for US from India than building for India. Just “profit” over growth now. Nothing else matters 💭

Hey Folks! I was planning on launching a new age social media application. What are some good strategies I can apply to growth hack that shiz. Im planning paying some Twitter/LinkedIn/Instagram influencers and asking some of my buddies who have a good following to post screenshots of the app. To make it look organic, they’ll post some topic to rile up the audience and get that engagement. Also we are planning to not mention the app name in the tweet but always have it in the replies so it looks organic and is if our app is already the talk of the town Does anyone have any suggestions? Does this sound like a good plan. I paid a freelance growth consultant a lot of money for this plan. How does it sound? Anyone has any thoughts? Folks?

Pardon me for being so naive here. I want to understand this new type of startup trend. 1. What’s the source of motivation for their employees to stick to their jobs? 2. How do apps like these think of monetizing? There is no ad, no paid feature per say. 3. Grapevine has probably built some kind of a platform. But how is this different from platforms like twitter, facebook or any other social media platform? 4. How much money do you think has been invested into building apps like this? 5. The DAU of this app based on my wild guess must be around 5K. I may be completely wrong here. 6. What according to you is the current valuation of grapevine? 7. Saumil Tripathi, the founder of grapevine is ex-google employee as per his LinkedIn profile. There is no mention of any other any other startup he owns. 8. Grapevine has a team of 10 employees (as per Saumil’s post a few weeks back) How do these guys make money? I’m awestruck by the guys working in grapevine. Biz dev role, full time engagement, equity. DTC exposure is must. Right now we are in product development & testing early pmf phase. Matching salary. Product - A SAAS solution for non tech savvy DTC brands to reduce their ad spend upto 40% through influencer led sales. Problem - Indian D2C brands spend $7b every year on ad spend only to achieve < 2% retention and <2 ROAS. This is because there is no other way other than ad spend to acq. customers. Core team in place - 2 engineers, 1 COO, 1 CTO & 1 PM. Enough cash to survive till pre-seed and get to early pmf. Raising pre-seed now to onboard 100 DTC brands. Founders: ex-Microsoft, Pixis, Swiggy, Zomato, Udaan, Rapido Equity you get will yield following - At the end of yr. 5: Best case exit for you: ~7-9cr. Avg case: 3-5cr. Worst case: 60L-1cr. Along with equity from starting day. You will keep on getting more and more ESOP rewards linked to value creation (revenue, growth, unlocking partnerships) or annual cash bonus (% of the value added).

2 Engineering Director's and a Marketing Director left in last 2 months. CTO, CGO, CHRO have put down papers and are leaving soon. A Sr. Engg Director has also resigned. A couple of SDE's joined and are leaving within the month of joining and more older SDE's leaving too. These are voluntary exits despite the current layoff and downtrend.
