What does unemployment around you look like? Or if not around us, for people trying to come out of Tier 2/3 towns. These mass recruiters (behemoths like Capgmeni & Cognizant + TCS Infosys) are actually the gateway for many into a city life. In the absence of it, it's scary to think what they're up to.

What happens to those 1.5L students/professionals? Scares me everyday.

I feel at the pace AI is advancing, most of us will be unemployed. The uncertainty is making me anxious, any help appreciated :)

Anyone else feeling scared of AI induced unemployment ?

I got laid off in Jan. Took 4 months to land a job finally and joined a new company in May.
This new company seems to be silently laying off people now in the name of cost cutting and likely be trying to raise next round of funding although they previously raised previous round in Aug-2022.
Although right now it's more of they need me (my role, I'm the only person of this role) more than I need them, I'm 70% confident that I might not be impacted, but the 30% chance is keeping me sleepless. What do I do? Pretty traumatized from the first layoff.

Atlassian is revoking offers for 2024 batch. My LinkedIn is filled with these posts. Some of my batchmates are also impacted by this. 

I'm genuinely scared of what's up with the market and where we are heading towards.

I’m a digital marketing job where my manager was fired a week before. 

Now they have moved me under another person for reporting but he is so bossy and attitudes and mainly he never understands marketing. He is more of an operation guy. 

Life is getting toxic under him as for each and everything need to explain a lot and he gives me random other work which is not relevant to me and takes time.. just after my old manager went, I’m spending like 12-14 hours everyday.. too much off mental stress..

Also the founder believes him more than anyone in company. 

So I’m planning to resign immediately, I don’t have any job offer and so far just giving interview in 2 company’s since last week but I guess it will take more time to get a job as market scenario is not good.. 

I’m ok to take a hit for 1-2 month for now as resigning immediately and just focus on getting a better job. 

So need your thoughts and opinion on this..

Is the job market now this bad?! Scary!!!

Hi folks,
I got laid off in Sept. since then looking for a Job. 
market is so scary. 
Few questions:
1. a lot of companies are hiring through crewscale, etc. they are offering low salary as per the role. are companies paying low salary to them or they are taking a big cut? do people treat them differently once they join a company via crewscale?

2. I am not able to get my resume shortlist for mncs. 

what to do now? recently my friend got a call from razorpay gehy were offering for sde role 15 lakh for 2 years experienced. they were paying 22 lakh for sde 1 last year. the role is not product engg or solution ennggg that they recently introduced for low salary. it was sde role.

I see jobs being there, but even the entry level jobs are requiring experience. I saw a associate level job posting on linkedin for a startup asking for 4-6 years experience. This is in line with the recent article at The KEN.

Are people really ready to work for low salary for high skills? 
What does this mean for the freshers, job switchers/career switchers? Are we all doomed for now?

What's happening with the job market?

We know that many 2023 batch students are jobless, even one of my seniors who deserves a good job is jobless. 
And there are so few opportunities for them right now. 
Is it going to repeat for 2024 batch also. 
I'm asking this question, b'coz I'm not fully prepared yet, but applying to companies with what I got. Practicing dsa questions(1/3 topics covered), developing a good project(already have 1 small, and 1 decent project) & I'm confident I can crack a job IF I get at least 3-4 months. 
But I'm afraid that after 4 months there will be very less opening for the 2024 batch & all the focus will be on 2025 batch. 

I need your genuine opinion and guidance.

People on LinkedIn posting their off campus experiences, then selling a course in the end, while WILLINGLY not mentioning the date of interview. Some of them even mention on campus experiences without full disclosure. Feels like a major slap in the face for people like us who are struggling in recession.

Entirely possible that many of them lie about these experiences too. I respect them for navigating off campus positions and applying and getting jobs, but things were way, way easier back then. To go through bloodbath right now and see those posts, just feels like major tone-deafness on their part.

Or maybe I'm salty af (I am).
