Seeking Advice: Where to begin for business knowledge?

I’m going to join an MBA college this year. I’ve 2-3 months of available time before the session begins in either June or July 2024. Currently, I’m learning Excel and PowerPoint as recommended by almost everyone I’ve asked for advice. Besides this what skills, certifications etc. should I learn in order to enhance my CV(My major specialisation is going to be in marketing). I’ve also got to know that certifications don’t have much value since you cannot mention those in your CV. So is there anything I can do as of now which will help me to strengthen my CV. Please don’t tell me to relax and chill because my academics are below average and I’m going to face issues during my MBA journey so I want to utilise these 2 - 3 months in a productive way so that it gives me headstarts for my MBA journey. Also any advice on how to make the most of my MBA journey, including specific actions to be taken during the program with a focus on achieving a successful placement would be greatly appreciated. Hi Guys , I am currently looking to start my online MBA from manipal. I need advice on the same whether it helps in my career or not .( The ultimate goal is to either start my business in 5 years or go abroad and work in a MNC). I am 23. But job is not ment for me tbh 😔. Have a business background but it's not stable that's why joined corporate for get some money for ok life. Please need guidance like a big brother on whether I should not do it or start with it ( Btech background not interested in coding as such). Or any other life advice! Thanks

Hi, Am from tech background have 10+ years of experience. Have goal/interest in managing a mid size company with around 1000+ employee as a CXO professional in coming 5 years. I know this is not easy as someone who has no exposure in finance/marketing/sales etc because tech itself is not enough to run a business and sales and finance experience is also required for it. What all resources in finance should I delve into depth so that I can understand minutes of business so that someone like me from a tech background can somehow think of target to run a business and prepare for it. Can not go for top mba so kindly suggest me something so that I can learn and do it through self study. TIA

How valuable is an online MBA from an institution like NMIMS in comparison with a full time MBA. In terms of value, exposure, financial returns etc.

Let's say you want to start a start up like a scalar academy. How would you go about it? Will you do marketing first to bring in customers or register as a company? Start hiring people or spend on ads? Just curious to know how people start up, and what's their first step. Please share your insights, it might help someone start later on. Thanks for the input

Im working as a developer in a unicorn startup with good salary for my age. But from college time I was interested in entrepreneurship trying different thing and later after completing college I joined this unicorn and worked hard, shifted to their new stealth startup and worked there with for 1yr, tried to work in every possible opportunity that I got with design team, product managers and learnt how to build a startup from scratch, but later due to creative issues in top level management and less revenue than the competitors the startup was shutdown and I was moved back to the unicorn and again started working as an developer. Tried different things from then 1. Tried joining top B schools but couldn’t afford 2. Tired pitching ideas to friends, seems like no one interested in taking risk leaving the life they have now 3. Tried starting few things on my own but always end up failing with no support 4. Tried attending conferences but that too never led me anywhere Now don’t have as many friends interested in entrepreneurship or mentors to guide me. Just passing the days doing the same work again and again please suggest me what to do next or give me any kind of advice

Hi, Need some advice guys. I am currently working in oracle as a software developer since 2 years. I like the work but I want to expand my horizon and move into management roles and am interested in doing a global MBA from a reputed institute preferably Ivy League. But I was told by someone that the global market is very bad and to get roles like Management Consultant and PE/VC, I need some finance/analytics background. So should I switch to same role in a bank like Goldman Sachs to get little finance knowledge. Please let me know if this information is true. Thanks.
