Sharing CTC with prospective employer

Guys, if asked about your ctc during an interview with a prospective employer- what do you usually do? What is the norm? Is it okay to refuse sharing that information?

I usually respond with "I'm not comfortable" and noticed folks responding in a bipolar manner. Thoughts?

This is what I say too. They mostly back off and I have lost on countless opportunities.
But the idea is to work with good paymasters, let's not restrict ourselves to HRs who give 15-25% hike on my current. I'm never becoming a millionaire like that ๐Ÿ˜‚

But it has so happened, salary negotiations falls close to what I'm making and have to say that less than what I currently make. So they do gey an idea eventually

damn right man and and the thing is it can go both ways- maybe their budget for the role is way higher than your current ctc.
it's a risk worth taking I feel.

Once Upon a time one Very Popular and Top but Shitty Bank Employee Interviewed me and I Joined late due to technical reason so Main Panel Left so I called HR So she told me we will reschedule the call but I don't want to waste my time because they are not offering good salary so I being in the call after 5 minutes one person joined the meeting and Starts wasting my time so I also thinking ki how to skip that interview so in the end he asked me about my salary and that was very Awkward because in my current org that should not be a interview question

Not if anybody ask that Shitty question so I will tell him/her for that I need to discuss your HR First than I will Share via Mail to you and HR Both - ๐Ÿ˜‚
