Should I buy Home?

With rising prices of properties and houses, my dream of building a home will remain dream for me. When will that day come when common people will be able to buy property. All good properties are worth more than 1.3 cr. Home loan is also joke. For property worth 1 cr. You will pay double the amount as interests. How many people here have completed their dream of buying property without home loan. I don't want to take home loan as our jobs are very unpredictable. Any time any one can get laid off. Will we be able to buy our own home ever?

Should i buy a 3 bhk in Bangalore which is of 1.5cr or 2cr, and pay the Emi for next 10-20 years. Or i should consider some other alternatives.

Context - Buying as an investment, don't plan to live there. I plan to live on rent. Current rent is 17k/month. I'll keep it short for max input. I'm looking at some flats priced around 60-70L for a 2BHK. Rent in the area will be ~30k. If I pay 20L down and take a home loan for 40L, EMI will be approx ~65k for a period of 7 years (I want to pay it off ASAP, to pay the least amount of interest). I earn around 1.5L per month. Personal expenses are ~50k per month. Assuming I get 30K as rent I'll have to pay a maximum of 40K as emi. This is a very recent thought on which I've just researched for a couple of hours so apologies if I missed anything important but honestly this looks quite doable to me.

I live in Pune and travel to Bangalore often. I want to purchase house in Pune 2/3bhk but I don’t know if I would be able to stay in it as my job is insecure 😕 I am 40, have some savings of around 40L, hold about 50L in markets. Would it be a good bet to buy 1.4Cr flat? Is it a right decision? PS: what I understand all market projects are running sold out!

Personally, I've contemplated buying multiple times, but after analyzing my finances, I've hesitated. I'm currently leaning towards ensuring my net worth covers at least 60% of the flat cost when making such a decision. In the long run, I believe the interest earned on my net worth could potentially cover EMIs during challenging times, like job loss or unforeseen circumstances. For instance, if I opt for a 2 Cr house, I'm considering a minimum net worth of 1.2 Cr across various asset classes like Mutual Funds, Stocks, PF, PPF, NPS, SGB, and more. I will be moving to Bangalore in the coming June/July. Need to look for a flat to rent in the Whitefield area. Some questions regarding the same: 1. What would be the approximate cost to rent a 2/3 bhk in sharing in the Whitefield area. 2. How many months before moving should I ideally start looking for a flat. 3. Hi All, We are planning to buy a builder floor flat(reason : we get more land share than buying an apartment). Budget within 1.5 to 1.8 cr My salary : 44lacs My husband's salary: 64 lacs We both have purchased two houses in our home towns in tier 2 cities. Together we both have a loan of approximately 44 lacs. We are not closing it because of tax benefit and also those loan accounts are OD we are getting approximately 7% interest. Till now we didn't have a plan of buying any property. We just had a plan of doing sip in mutual funds which will give more returns. But now we are feeling like buying one. Because both of us are doing wfh and our daughter started going to school. Parents are also staying with us. Is it a good idea to buy a house or stay in a rented property, have some savings for the next 10 years or so and buy with full cash?

To be very honest I feel very frustrated looking at the situation right now. Companies are laying off without worrying about the employees. It's just corporate profits everywhere. I am scared to death that my career won't last long than 20 years because the moment these folks think you are becoming a financial burden on them, they'll lay you off. I don't want to live my life in a constant war mode. The Indian education system has bruised my personality for a long time. I want to relax but looking at this battlefield I can never. My weekends are spent worrying about planning for finances in case I get laid off. I am worried I won't be able to buy a house. This shit is depressing me very much. I have saved 15L in the past 2.5 years, and i am planning to buy a home worth 50 L in tier 3 city. I want to take a Loan of the remaining amount and i am the only earner in my family. Considering the current situation of Layoffs/Downsizing etc etc in IT,is it okay to take a loan and solely depend on my income for loan repayment. Im 25 rn and we don't have our own house. So need one. What are the other ways in which i can buy a home.

Let's say you are earning ~ 2 Lakhs per Month, living in Hyderabad. You have No savings - Bank balance Zero and U want to Buy some property With Loan or By saving up something. The real estate is skyrocketed. So the rates are higher not sure whether it will shoot up again from this point or alteredy reached its peak and will be staggered for a few months or stable. In this situation you are planning to buy a property. Will you 1) Buy an apartment in the Gated Community (~1 to 1.1cr) 2) Buy an apartment in the Standalone Building (80 to 90 Lakh) 3) Buy an independent house or villa outside the city (1.3 to 1.5cr) 4) Invest on some land for future 5) Don't buy anything 6) Confused Share your thoughts, what would you do and Why ?
