Showing Forged offer letter
What can be the consequences of showing Forged offer letter. Like I have got offer 0f 24LPA from Company A. Now company B offers me same I want to join B, whatif I edit 24 of A to 28 LPA, show that to B and ask them match it. I don't think B will contact A to confirm it, BgV also concerns previous employers.. So is there any risk???
Why indulge in fraud/deceit?

Forged or not, dont show company A name
Don't give them a chance to ask them. You don't know how small the professional world is, everyone knows someone who knows someone
They ask for offer letter to increase the salary, what to do then....

Hide the name of the employer, it's usual practise. We don't show which is the company and if asked state that it's confidential information as per the offer letter's agreements.
You can fudge the numbers. No 1 checks back with company. Just make sure to fudge properly not just add 4l to base without modifying other dependent numbers.
HR just kind of needs proof to provide reason for a higher offer. That's why they ask for competing offer, nobody does due diligence least of all our highly competent HR folks
Wow! If you fudge numbers and in future, if it comes to my knowledge I would never hire you. Just shows the value and ethics that you bring to work. No company would want to hire such a person irrespective of the skills that you bring to the table
Agreed. You are thinking about it and asking about it. That for me is enough reason never to consider you.

Don't forge documents ever. Use your own negotiation skills, tell them you have a higher offer and if you're worth it they will match or they won't.
Trust your gut. We all know what's right and wrong. Don't lose your moral compass behind a few lakhs, greed is a slippery slope and makes us do foolish things.
Why show offer letter? No need to do that. If they have to give you, they will. If they don’t have budget, they will anyways not give you whatsoever you do. This is from personal experience.
I had multiple offers, and told the other company to give me a better offer. Initially they denied and told me to reject their offer(it’s to pressure you). I rejected their offer on mail. They came back to me within 48 hours with a better offer.
It’s always what you bring to the table plus how badly they require you.

You'll have to share them once you accept the offer

You don't need to show a document, you can tell them I have an offer of 28 and if they dont believe you it reflects on the work culture. Take the high road.

Say that company A is offering you 24 and there is another company C in final rounds where you are closing at 28 and if B can match 28 before the C, you will join B and not proceed with the further process. Don't forge. There is a chance of getting caught. Morals are secondary, be practical and smart about it.
