I am 4 months into my first job as a product manager. I have never coded in my life except for a basic coding course in college. While I am always eager to understand technical concepts and tend to ask a lot of questions around the same I still feel there's a huge gap in communication. 

This leads to poorly estimated timelines, and often difficulty in assessing feasibility of ideas.

I wish to learn more about software architecture, data management systems and the development processes in general. 

While I know I lack technical expertise, I don't want to discount the possibility of this just being a communication issue within the team. This is a series B startup just entering the growth phase, so no proper processes are set up as of now - again something I will have to streamline.

My question is to all the product managers especially who don't come from a technical background - how did you bridge this gap?

Resources for Non-Tech PMs

"a little knowledge is a dangerous thing" or "neem hakeem khatra jaan"

I realised this recently when I went through my old bookmarked videos and realised I learnt it wrong. 

Now i know better from my experience, but it's quite shocking, that a beginner might be still watching these videos and learning it wrong.

Most content about system design and distributed systems is far from the truth, it includes all your famous YouTubers including Gaurav Sen etc 

e.g wait till you realise that ACID guarantee doesn't mean anything and C-consistency is a made up concept.

we want an easy way out by just going through videos, and even the YouTuber can't make it complex, otherwise no one will watch their videos.

The real knowledge is still in those famous books, read those, otherwise you sound like a phony who just knows buzzwords, which is very easy to catch in an interview.

Most of the content taught by tech youtubers is simply wrong/incomplete

I’m a SDE2 looking forward to improve on System Design. Wanted to know what my path should be like? Any courses which the community would recommend. Any common pitfalls to be aware of. 
I’m worried that I’ll not be able to meet the expectations of this role. So asking for help.

if anyone here has been a student if Keerti Purswani's HLD or LLD courses, could you please give an honest feedback of the course, whether it's good to crack system design interviews of good product based companies.

PS: About me, a college grad who has a job offer froma decent PBC and is looking to future proof his career by learning system design

I don’t feel confident in terms of my skills as a product designer. I want to work on startups and I’ve seen folks from 10K joining companies like Cars24, Razorpay etc.
I feel I need some guidance and mentorship with respect to how to think as a designer.
