Hey Guys,

I have an experience of 10 years in Android development. Using kotlin, Java, Jni almost everything in Android that is latest apart from Compose. 

I resigned from my job(after 10 days people were laid off), My work environment was toxic and the CEO was truly toxic and double faced. 

My salary there was 20 lpa(18cash + 2 stock). I didn't get an increment since I joined and I worked there for more of less 2 years. 

I am searching for a remote job, I am based out of Goa. What do you think is a good CTC for me to expect ? 
Should I stop doing development and move to management ? Not many jobs are there in Android native too, should I move to react native ? 

If anyone can shed some light or their experience let me know.

Hi folks, I have 2.5 yr of experience in react native and JavaScript combined with current CTC of 12 LPA. Few months of experience in frontend. Currently I want to switch from my react native position to frontend position without taking a pay cut. How much is it different from react native and where should I be focusing the most. 
Reason for switching: I am not comfortable in current organisation with the way management works and I am also tired of react native.

Software Engineer

Hi everyone , I graduated this year in May from an  IIT but from an earth science branch . I have around 1 year of experience as an intern in different companies, including as a Japanese AI company . In college, I have a very low GPA ( < 6.5), so on campus was practically impossible ( I did get an offer :) ) .In my final semester, I worked at a service based company based out of Germany as an intern, which hired indian devs ( you know why ).

So, I got an offer from them around 20 LPA( all base) remote. Culture is good, no micromanagement or odd working hours, and people are helpful. I work around 45 hours per week .But They have fried 4 dev in the last 3 months citing 'lack of ownership'. I tried to get an offer from other companies but couldn't find much success due to market conditions and branch .I have been working for around 5 months, managing a social app in react native and expo that was created when I was intern . I code and handle other tasks like creating tickets, scoping requirements, and reviewing intern code. I also work on Backend, Database, and a react based web app, too sometimes. 

I have a feeling that as the product is mvp, I am not working on scale, and nobody cares about optimization for all large scales or complex devops,design patterns, or even basic caching . Instead, we really on managed services like codebuild or fargate, which I do handle most of the time

I will ask for suggestions from experienced folks that what should I do in this case should I actively try for new role or put effort in my job. ( Company is encouraging new dev to learn new stuff different from the regular job , for me, it's caching for this quarter )

I'm a React Native developer with 2 years of experience based in Surat, Gujarat. I recently completed my 2 years at my current job, but the appraisal discussion hasn't come up even after 15 days.

I've been learning iOS development alongside my job since it's something I've always wanted to do. I’ve covered the basics of Swift and started with SwiftUI, but I’m not yet ready to take on an iOS developer role – I still need more learning and practice.

I'm at a crossroads now. If I start looking for a new job, should I stick with React Native or switch to iOS? I initially learned React Native to get into mobile development because there were fewer resources for iOS. Now, I want to leave React Native behind, but I’m worried that switching might stop me from learning iOS.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? What did you do? Any advice would be really appreciated!

21M in my final year, I have been doing frontend development for the past 2 years mostly into making hybrid apps. Currently working for a remote US startup which is paying more base than faang CTC. I am confused about what should I learn next. Two options which I have are Native app development i.e IOS and Android or backend development i.e full stack developer. What are your thoughts about the upcoming market trends?

What do u think the career trajectory will be for Native Mobile developers after 4-5 Years of experience? ( Android/Ios) 

Personally I think there are less senior/staff roles in india unless we pivot to BE or people roles we will not have an uptrend in our career. 

And what do u think about Hybrid frameworks ( like RN and Flutter) ? should we adopt them ASAP ? or not required to grow in the career ladder ? 

( Please add YOE while answering It helps to see how early devs vs Exp devs think )

Native Mobile developers - need ur thoughts.

I see so many job openings for backend and sometimes flutter too but very less openings for android native roles that too especially with 2+. The very few available ones too asking for 7+. What is happening? Is this how android native market looks like? Experienced folks how did you navigate?

Looking for Android Developer referrals

Hey folks , 
I've been in software was almost 5 years with 4 years experience in React Native (was a lead react native dev in previous job) , around 10 months native Android (Java). I've also worked on the backend (mostly nodejs, postgres stuff, integrating with payment gateways, queues - worked as a fullstack dev in fintech mostly in the FASTag space for a big private sector bank)  with basic exposure to AWS (ec2 , Lambada etc) 
I am now done with JS and have taken a career break to explore new technologies , get better at DSA and become a better programmer. I am thinking of learning Swift for iOS as I love working on mobile apps and also started learning golang as I always wanted to learn a more versatile programming language that allows me to do low level stuff and seems like golang is a good stepping stone in that direction. 

Coming to the point and the main question:
Does changing stacks eg from react native to Swift for iOS or starting as Golang dev lead to a decrease in salary? Keeping in mind I don't have prior experience in golang at all . But I am guessing if I had to switch to native iOS in Swift there wouldn't be much of a salary drop?

Also I would appreciate if you'll had any tips for navigating salary negotiation in such a case . Should I settle for a lower salary and build my experience? Or demand a higher salary then my previous job ?

I have been working on Android development for 5+ years now. Mostly native Android. Is it possible at my level to find new jobs in other technology (backend or Frontend web).

Do native android engineers have good market in India? 
I am currently sitting at 37 LPA SDE2. 
I only see few companies like Uber and big tech like Google for native android developer with big paycheck
But for startups, wherever I see, startups prefer web frontennd people where they are making WebViews as screen for mobile apps. Apps like Zepto, Apna they are doing webviews only. It makes sense since they need to move quickly. So I was wondering do android engineers still have good market?

I got laid off in Sept. since then looking for a Job. 
market is so scary. 
Few questions:
1. a lot of companies are hiring through crewscale, etc. they are offering low salary as per the role. are companies paying low salary to them or they are taking a big cut? do people treat them differently once they join a company via crewscale?

2. I am not able to get my resume shortlist for mncs. 

what to do now? recently my friend got a call from razorpay gehy were offering for sde role 15 lakh for 2 years experienced. they were paying 22 lakh for sde 1 last year. the role is not product engg or solution ennggg that they recently introduced for low salary. it was sde role.

I am scared now.

I have been working for 2 years at an Indian telecom company. I am mainly writing code in C for real time sensitive devices. So my experience is low level coding in C and debugging.

Will I be able to get more jobs based on this experience and domain? So should I switch my domain? If yes, then any domain suggestions?
