Stuck
Hi so I've been stuck at a job doing mundane support work. Have been here for a total of 2 years and have some 4 yoe in PHP backend development. I've been meaning to switch but can't seem to crack interviews. Is there a way to brush up my skills also switch up the technology stack. Current ctc 11 lpa.
I try to connect to technical people who lead teams on LinkedIn and understand from them what they mostly look for in a candidate. Once you have talked to at least 5-6 such people you get a sense of what needs to be prioritised, not just technical skills but others as well.
Out of those 5-6 at least 1-2 will also answer your doubts on how to proceed about a technology, they can act as mentors and you can talk to them once twice a month while being very objective and not eating much of their time. If they are willing to give time then that's a different scenario. Sometimes you just need a person who knows the path rather than discovering completely on your own.

Hey thanks man for this reply. This definitely looks doable. I'll try it out. Did this approach helped you personally on what you wanted?
I've tried this for various reasons and got satisfactory suggestions/guidance be it higher studies, job switch or just tech in general.
One in general should keep talking to people who are higher up just to make sure your understanding of the industry is up to date or not.
