Stuck in the current situation

I was being paid less by the company. But I continued as it allowed some personal time and I was expecting senior positions. However, the company has appointed someone(was close to top.mgmt) as my head and my chances of senior roles are bleak now. Should I keep playing the chess/politics or just lookout for something else? ps- my seniors have left the company and I am not finding any sponsor/godfather who can put forward my case. #feelingstuck
