Switch Career

I have been working in front end consulting for around 2 years now (first job) and am struggling to understand my options in terms of career paths and in the long term. A) Would love to know more about some career trajectories post consulting + some people who have inspired you whom I can check out on linkedin (in case grapevine allows for it). B) How feasible is a pivot to industry post consulting?

I'm currently working on an FTE job - wherein the offer letter its mentioned "During the term of your employment with the Company, you may not engage in any employment or act in any way, which either conflicts with your duties and obligations to the Company, or is contrary to the policies or the interests of the Company." Now, I'm getting enough time and I want to consider working in a 0-1 startup, and the new company I'm joining will know about my current employer - The above mentioned is the only clause the current employer have regarding working in other company. Can the current employer legally put a case anytime in the future if they get to know this? - what are the loopholes I can use here? What position I can join in as (Consultant, Advisory role) - Still an early career professional in order to avoid conflict afterwards. Thank you for your help!!

I'm a chem engineer with MBA in Finance (Tier 2 cllg). While pursuing my MBA I had two priorities clear - 1. Dont want a sales role & 2. Don't want to join a tech company (not exactly good with tech stack). As luck would have it, I joined IBM few months ago in a sales role 🥲 Since then I have been thinking a lot about my future. I need some external advice as I am already biased against the sales role - 1. In a situation like mine, should one immediately switch profile if possible or get some experience in sales before trying to switch? 2. Is it even possible to make the switch if I spend a couple of years here? 3. How difficult it is to make the switch to finance roles (financial analyst or similar) without a CFA and solely on MBA finance? I'm prepping for CFA but will appear next year post April. TIA

I have a 5+ years in strategy consulting working for a Big4 - I like my work, team and the organisation Though, now I crave for some different experience - maybe work for startup’s or a VC firm I have been offered a job in a boutique investment bank - which works with startup’s in India My questions: 1. Is it worth switching for a Big4 to a Boutique Investment Bank - will it effect my further employability 2. Does this get me closer to my goal of working for a VC fund someday? 3. Hi guys, I've been working since the last 1.5 years as a customer service & operations analyst ( similar to process analyst/ operations analyst etc. ) in Retail Banking Ops and would like to upskill and switch to better roles ( where productivity and performance is not quantitative but qualitative as well). My target roles/job profiles are those where BAU is not confined strictly to copy paste tasks but stimulates intellect. Would appreciate suggestions/certifications / courses which will make my resume strong { strong enough to apply in mid-career roles in investment banks( for example JP Morgan), AMCs (BlackRock), audit firms (KPMG), financial services ( AmEx), banks with GCCs in India ( NAB ) } Thanks in advance. Would appreciate referrals if any.

Biggest query: Does this career move make sense? Or should the aim be towards a Manager position after spending 6+ years in Product Management?
