Switching from HFT DQA role to PBC SDE
I work as Desk Quant Analyst at an HFT. Exp - ~1 year. Task mostly involves some coding stuff in C++ and sometimes python. Heard a notion that such resume doesn't get picked by PBC hiring much of it is true?
Can you elaborate a bit more about your experience in HFT? I'm currently going through interview process in a HFT firm. So any input would be very helpful.

Quite hectic.. no flexibility in work timing, fixed 10 AM-8PM work time , so 50 work hours in week atleast. 3 months notice period is making the switching difficult. So, WLB is shit. Workwise it becomes boring after a time. Pressure is too much sometimes. Overall, most of my friends are planning to leave since they have gained 1 year experience
Man donât go around making your own shortforms. Just type the whole thing⌠PBC, I presume u mean Product Based Company⌠I highly doubt ur notion. HFT are more restrictive than Product based companies. Some companies do have additional filter which the recruiter mentions like âYou shouldâve previously worked in startup or fintech onlyâ but itâs for few companies only.
