Tier 3 college education struggle
As someone from a tier-3 college, is it possible for me to bag a good job and slowly climb the ladder and make 30L, 40L like some of you do? Is this IIT branding so needed even today to get a job at top companies? I have huge regrets for fucking up JEE mains now.
According to my experience, college doesn’t matter much, it sure does give a career boost in the start of your career but after that all it takes is how good are you and your skills.
I know some really good engineers which are not from tier1/2 colleges in my company. And they are killing it.
I would recommend to not chase solely after money and focus more on your skills and learning. More you focus on it more money will follow.

I don't think so it matters about your college. It just let's you ease a bit in your college life. Because a lot of good companies who give good packages will come to your college and you will easily get placed with the tag of IIT. But if you grind enough in your tier-3 college only then you will surely able to score a high package just like people get from IIT. You just have to find your passion in which tech you want to go, just give your time in that and you can get a good job in that field.
But if you don't work hard in your college life then it's your fault. Then nothing can be done if you are not focussed.
According to me till 12th standard parents and family have a role in our success like someone got into IIT as there parents help them with each and everything possible
But after 12th, when your college life starts it completely depends upon you , how you approach the opportunities that come in your way. Whether you will acquire some bad or habits in your college life , these all will reflect in the package that you will be getting after you complete your college.
Startups are your answer.
They don't care about tier or even a degree just your skills, which you acquire from internet not college.
You will wear all hats and will learn alot, then you can leverage your skillset to make good money.
Getting first job is toughest, it will get much easier after that.
It doesn't matter, i was from a tier 3 college but now earning more than 30 LPA
The only difference in my opinion is that having an IIT Brand is that the tag opens a lot of Opportunities faster
I was from one of the witch companies with very average academic credentials it took me more than 10 months to crack my first product based company
But after that it has not been that hard my third company is also a product based company which i cracked in two months
I was in tier 3+ or the worst tier you can say. I started out in small company, struggled a lot, worked really hard and got into well known startup now. So, take this as a testament that colleges really don't matter. For some companies in india they definitely do, they even state that in their job profile. Fuck those companies! There are plenty others who are hungry even at these times for top talent! All you need is to prove your skills
