😂 I don't think when >99% of the population don't earn >10L, 15L should be considered less than upper class.
On the earning scale atleast, i guess if you were to base the class on purchase power it'd make sense to hold maybe 30LPA as upper class. It's considering the whole country, even cheap cities like xyz city in UP. And for the whole of India, which includes people living in said xyz city.
0-12 LPA — poor 12-80 LPA — middle class 80-200 — upper middle class 200 LPA and beyond is rich
Upper class is when you don’t take “a salary” but just go to the bank to borrow a few hundred crores for a thing
What people miss here is background. My friends who earn half as me can maintain a class/spend which is twice of my spending. Reason, I have to work on basics first, home renovation for parents place or parents health costs. Whereas his responsibilities ends with earning for his luxuries.
Equal earning is not equal life standards.
It also depends on one’s background. Someone from a wealthy household with 8LPA is better placed socially than 20LPA from poor Tier 3 town family
