There’s no way MamaEarth is worth 10,000 crores, I mean their products are shit, they don’t even manufacture their own products, they don’t have any patents. It’s essentially just a marketing company who have managed to sell mediocre products under the disguise of “toxin-free”.
I really wished their IPO would fail 🥲

Is Mamaearth another story of VCs making a shit ton of money at the expense of retail investors ?

In the recent years after Covid I have seen the amount of subscription being 40-50x the actual amount asked in the IPO for Retail section. Is this a sign that there’s a lot of money to invest but nothing to invest in ?
Also is there a way to utilise this money at some better place considering it being stuck in bank for a week or more.

Why do we see exits/re-structuring close to the IPO?

- MobiKwik's IPO will be a fresh issue of equity shares with no offer for sale component.
- The fintech unicorn plans to use the IPO proceeds to grow its financial services and expand its payments business.
- MobiKwik may also pursue a pre-IPO placement of INR 140 Cr, adjusting the fresh issue size accordingly.
- The company became profitable in FY24, reporting a net profit of INR 14.1 Cr, a turnaround from a net loss of INR 83.19 Cr in the previous year.
- Founded in 2009, MobiKwik offers a suite of financial products and has 146.94 Mn registered users as of September 2023.

Swiggy is planning to go public soon and has offered to exercise our ESOPs at a certain valuation. This is not a buyback, so we will have to pay taxes on the exercised shares. Is it worth exercising now or should I wait for the IPO? I will only gain from this if the IPO price is higher than the exercise price, otherwise I will end up paying more tax. Did Zomato have a similar offer before its IPO? If so, what was the best option for its employees?

Here, in India, we have shitty SME companies 50x in 3-5 years.
