• The report was published in compliance with India’s IT Rules, 2021, requiring platforms to disclose content moderation efforts.
• WhatsApp received 10,707 user complaints in August 2024, with action taken on 93 cases.
• This follows reports of the Competition Commission of India (CCI) considering action against WhatsApp for allegedly breaching antitrust laws.
