I keep travelling for work, so guess it gets masked in that

I am thinking of leaving my current job and focus on myself, getting to know myself better etc. Currently I have enough money saved for my expenses for next 6-8 months. 
   Everyone I have asked about this say don't leave your job if you don't have another lined up, in this tech winter. I understand their view point. It aligns with what my parents think as well.

Is there anyone who has had done this in the past? Do you recommend this route? Are the consequences far too severe? Does anyone have a different opinion from one stated above?

What % of your annual income do you spend on travel?

29F, I still stay with my parents
Working, earning >1lpm, remote work

Over the years, I have realised I own no assets. 
Everything has been bought by parents EVERYTHING
My mom would always make sure she or dad paid, saying you can keep your money for yourself (which I initially thought was very sweet)
Now I see how I am dependent on them for all

What ever I have bought can be put into a polythene bag and that's all my life (I generally spend on food and stuff that goes away)
I have bought certain items for family or the house, but that isn't mine obviously 

I need to get out of the house, my mental health is at the edge

I want to move out of my parents home

Hey folks,
Coming from tier-2/3 towns, how do you manage to live away from home for full time in-office roles. 

Most of the people have decent set of responsibilities back at home ranging from parents healthcare to various documentations (like property management, bank-work etc). Becomes more important if you’re the only child.

Would like to know if there are any tools/services to manage this. How often do you guys travel back except for holidays?

I am an engineer and have been working remotely since the pandemic started. Initially, it was great as I could save time by not commuting to office but now I feel like I am missing out on something.

I don't know what it is but I just feel like I need to be in an office environment to thrive. Maybe it's the social aspect or the structure of having set hours, but whatever it is, I can't seem to find the same level of motivation when working from home.

Anyone else feeling this way? Any tips on how to make remote work more productive and enjoyable?

100% remote work is not working for me

Done for March and April, May is in planning
But the expenses is almost similar to SEA countries, why would anyone travel within India (except that visa is not needed)

Travel goals - one mini vacation every month!

Current: L4 56 Lakhs
YoE: 1 year 7 months

Here's what I have considered:

- Living in London is going to be costly, on an avg I'll be saving 1.2x of India.
- Meta London created a bad reputation for itself when last year it laid off people from India just 2 days after joining
- it's not worth it going from L4 to E4, I probably should switch only when getting a higher level or a big big pay bump (this is probably not a big pay bump considering the cost of living)
- I am not very good at making friends, and I have quite some friends here now... I don't just want to leave everything and be alone in a new city so far away from home.

- the only pro point I see is that..  it is London.

Do you think I should reconsider my decision?

Context - Applied for leave but manager told that there might be some work coming my way so don’t take leave. I obliged but then I had an Idea of Workcation 😭

Since work till now is pretty lite so I planned a workcation thinking I would be working for like 4-5 hrs and will roam around in the evening. 

But on the day of my travel, my manager called and told me that there’s some high priority work and I had to put in long hours for getting this delivered within this week so considering I will not be having much time to roam and explore, I ended up cancelling my travel plan losing 15k in bookings and here I am, having not much to do because we are waiting for other folks to share some data and inputs. 

I mean wth 🤦‍♂️ Life has fucked me really hard.

Note- I live with my parents so I had planned a good 4 days getaway with my wife but it seems destiny had other plans. Since my parents are dependent so we both never got chance to travel and explore in each other company. 

Venting out here for no reason.

Rant: Life always fuck my travel plans.

We never went outside the state. Then again, we are just a software consultancy company.
But from various different posts, I have read folks been going to different countries from their companies apart from the on site.
