Honestly, there's no 1 person for me. I like messi for his finesse, De Bruyne for his through ball, Gareth bale for this amazing sprint and ball control at that speed, CR for head balls, scoring goals etc.  
 That's just in football, assuming that's the sport we are talking about

Of all time is a really far stretch. My generation was exposed mostly to 21st century atheletes and let's be honest the social media teams of these athletes are way too good in shaping their client as best. Nothing to take away from their calibre thats for sure. 
 For example, you can google Alexander Karelin of Russia. It's just one example, I am sure there must be others.
