HR s are not lazy people. They are involved in high stress situations like coordinating meeting between food committee members to decide on menu. And of course the daily team discussions on the front office rangoli design
Always remember, HR exists not to protect you from the company, but to protect the company from you. They are the pressure valve in the corporate kitchen, nothing more.
99.99% of them aren't of much use and don't go beyond basic job posting and candidate processing for the hiring. The rest live on Saturn !
Most HRs make company's culture worse..a company without HRs is much better place to work at..
In my last internship HR was totally unprofessional. Throughout the day, they would roam around the office talking on the phone, and when I asked them about something, they wouldn't even reply. I had to follow up 3-4 times to get a response. During the company's town hall with the founder, we raised this issue, but they took it lightly and brushed it off, claiming they were busy that month. They still haven't paid my reimbursement, which has been stuck since May. I've already contacted them 3-4 times, but I kept getting the same response, "we will process it next week."

That's beacuse you were an intern. Normal employees need only 1 or 2 followups.

In most startups they don't have a free hand. They work for the employer not the employee.
Agree but few of them that I have come accross when employee ask anything regards they are just too ignorant
This holds true for big corporations too. They circumvent processes when it suits them.
They are in a very tricky position. It’s hard to change decisions, culture, mindset of people up ⬆️. They are in constant conflict with their personal values vs companies. Most of them realise it but also don’t have safe space to voice their opinion as their whispers can be heard as loudspeakers. It’s hard and empathy is important in these situations.
