Why did Byjus Fall from 22b $ to 3b $ ?

[2011- 2021] Employees at 22b $ valuation: upto 10K [2022 - 2024] Between this period byjus employees count went upto 50k and within a year came down back to original. [2024] Employees at 3b $ valuation: 12k So what went wrong in 2022 and 2023 ? The Answer to this is CORPORATE MAFIA You can identify them from their operation 1) At first couple of the members of the mafia will join any organisation as a leader. 2) Initially they will build good relationships with leadership and set imaginary sweet goals for organisational growth and sell lies. 3) They lay off / underpay existing loyal employees 4) Finally they replace existing employees with their ex- colleagues and friends who were comparatively less productive but more expensive. 5) They will take all the growth opportunities and share among themselves. 6) At the end the organisation cost increases but the actual goal is still far enough to be achieved ever.

Middle management everywhere moves in groups primarily because of comfort zone. I don’t know why the valuation fall is linked with employees. Need some more empirical data.

Valuation 🍁 fall coz of unethical selling, not focusing on problem statement and chasing valuation at cost of tweaking biz model. India itself is huge then what was the need to go to usa, sa etc. Divya gokulnath and VCs brought Byju raveendran down. Never trust a gal just coz she gives u sxx

So it’s a founder-led problem, not employees cohort? Moreover, how can we forget when covid came everyone started believing EdTech is the only way to go forward. Why we are missing the external environment factors? Isn’t VC is all about future potential? Not discounting the ethical issues with founders.

First, they had a layoff. Lot of good people quit including great people Then, they had a second lay off Some great people in the leadership quit. Middle management people are quitting every day. Only engineers and other people who are not able to get jobs are remaining They shut down majority of US acquisitions They are trying to sell some of them like Tynkr and Epic Not able to raise funding till now even though trying since December Sales is down 90% New Inside Sales process is not working They are out of runway.
