Why do many IITians do dick measuring contest during interviews?

Came across a scenario multiple times while searching for senior engineer jobs. I felt that in majority of the cases if the interviewer was from IIT, no matter how much experienced they are they always have a particular style of putting you down during coding or system design type of interviews where they have high acceptance to bookish answer rather than having an open mind to other solutions which can be discussed in details and probably has a far more chances of evaluating a candidate on core thinking and logical skills rather. What do you think? Have you also faced similar scenario?

I just reject IIT IIM grads straight up. No interactions or interviews, period. Same with founders who start their intro with "funded by xyz".

If your biggest achievement in life is the college you went to or getting investment, you're pretty pathetic.

So according to you for all the IIT IIM graduates biggest achievement is only their college. What a dick mentality is this? I doubt you have taken even a single interview till now.

There will always be a bias everywhere in this world. It doesn’t mean you generalise everything. Life is not a communist propaganda.

If the world can discriminate against non IIT IIMs , I'm pretty sure it's okay to do the opposite as well.

Those kind of people I'm talking about actually don't have much to their name except college and a few jobs.

The humble and real ones don't even mention IIT IIM in their intro/online profiles because their achievements far outweigh their college cred.

IITians, the self-proclaimed intellectual elites, love their ego trips. They're not testing your skills, they're asserting dominance. Ever tried measuring their humility?

IITians and their bookish obsession! Classic case of ego inflation. Diversity in problem-solving, ever heard that, folks? 'Padhaku' types, huh? What's your idea of an ideal interview?

IIT grad bias

I have heard/ read so many companies blindly hiring and promoting IITians to roles they are not suited for. Many young grads are given manager roles, and they know sh*t about people management. just push all work to juniors.
