Why do people keep ranting about income tax

Bro, you are earning. Shouldn't you just be grateful that you are not born in war torn Afghanistan or disease ridden Africa. I mean life could be so much worse. In fact, the only difference between you and the office boy is the household you were born in. If that office boy was born in your home, he probably would be as successful as you.

You already won the lottery. Why not just do your part and pay the income tax so that the tax money can be used to provide a better life to those who are unprivileged.

I am not excusing the corruption in the system but just find the cribbing unbearable

Just be greatful

Oh, I thought this must be some smart argument, the moment I read “difference between you & the office boy is the household…”.

No bro, it’s no so simple. People work hard to make a living. People crib about taxes because some of us are paying ‘first world rates with third world facilities’. Only single digit % of population is bearing the load of rest-of-population. Even corporate tax rates are < Salary tax rates.

Toh bro, 3rd world tax pay karne se toh country bhi hamesha 3rd world hi reh jaegi. Pehle toh investment karna hi padega. Tabhi toh long term mei benefits reap honge

Do u feel tax-net is fair in the country?

An employer making more money might be
paying less tax compared to an employee.

Investment hai na Broooo!

I'm okay with paying income tax. I'm not okay with the rest of the 97% paying no income tax.

So are we not paying indirect tax ?

I pay a hefty amount every month as tax. My dad pays 2.5x the hefty amount as tax every month.

We both drive on roads that are absolute shit. None of us avail anything given by the government because it is absolute shit.

We like driving on Expressways, but we pay exorbitant tolls for it. Government is giving me close to nothing in return compared to how much I am paying them.

Either everyone pays tax, or nobody does.

Are you serious ? Don't make tax sound like charity. If the govt is making me work for it 3 months a year, while I still have to pay for premium private services because most public facilities are below par, why should I not crib? Have you thought about how the tax rebate scheme is meaningless as you earn more? The people who crib are actually folks who value every penny of what they give in tax. Because we have our own lives to lead in a world that's not utilitarian. The people who make way more and don't crib, are the ones skipping this very tax, and the revenue collection department doesn't do squat.

What do you mean by "a world that's not utilitarian" ?

I hope you are not claiming any HRA or special allowance deduction from your salary. We want you to pay even more tax for betterment of our country.

He should enrol himself in payroll giving programs as well. May be too much money he got and never felt how does it feel not having it.

Fed up with taxes

Nothing against anyone, neither the current government nor the previous government.

First I have to give tax on my salary, then the indirect tax on every single thing I buy.

Paying 29L as tax this year!!

I just want to vent out! Many businesses are earning double than me and paying less than 50% of tax and yet here I am as a professional bound to pay tax. And that’s not enough, I still can get audited!
