fellow engineers, what tools or hacks are you guys following to be more productive?

i am using todoist and keep notes to keep track of my tasks but often missing them and not able to be consistent as there are tons of tasks to get done which require atleast 3-4 subtasks.

i have tried pen+paper, it is a little better, but still looking for some better options, please help me out!

It’s clear to me that this isn’t good for me. My interaction with the outside world and being in the present is inversely proportional to how much I use IG/smartphone.

IG is obv the strongest drug, but in general want to be more conscious about what I do on my phone, when Inuse it.

Looking for genuine advice. Please help 🙏🏻

People who reduced IG/Smartphone usage, how did you do it?

What’s the most useful app you’ve discovered for productivity?

after 4 years of experience in corporate life i came to realize that if you want to get promoted and get max visibility then don't solve any issue on your own. 

Which means if you find some bug/issue which might become a big issue then don't solve it silently and expect others to appreciate you for it later on, they don't know the impact of the bug, you won't get enough appreciation 

Present it, involve your manager, involve his manager, involve other managers. Let it become a big issue, only then you will get credit for finding the bug and also for coming up with the solution. 

People don't respect those who avoid bugs, but those who solve bugs. So be that person.

Trust me there is no other way.

I regret not following this.

I would like to ask you something that's useful for me and helpful for other viners too.

Do you use any free tool or platform or chrome extentions ..something like that, that maximize your productivity and helps to do the things in a better way 

My Tip : I use a chatGPT free version for writing an email, I use the word "Humanize" to make it not sound like GPT email and also for technical doubts I use it  to understand the new concept in a simpler manner.

I know like there are other tools like Notion for taking notes and ideas 💡  What's yours ??

 6. Macbook chargers for phones. Long wired helps us use phones on bed, etc 
  
 Home: 
 1. LG washing machine with dryer – ensures from machine directly we can put clothes back into cupboard without having to dry! 
 2. Double door large fridge – two of us, but we have a larger high-quality fridge; it helps us cook and store for 2-3 days at a time 
 3. 32Ltr Microwave with grill option – wife bakes on the weekends  
 4. Air Purifier 
 5. In-house CCTV - wifi controlled + 360 moveable; helps us keep an eye on our pets 
 6. Verna – petrol manual transmission with good Bluetooth audio system + navigation. Both of us are petrolheads. Helps us travel anywhere across the country with a lot of luggage.
