YoE for SWE-3(L5) @ Google India?

I keep hearing that Google India downlevels most people while rolling out the offer. Realistically speaking what is the YoE required for this and equivalent positions in others in MANGA/FAANG?

They downlevel because of scale. If you were CTO of a 100 man company and your MAU was 100k then at Google you would be working at 100M scale.

There’s a difference. That’s why they downlevel you.

My friend who is having 4 years of experience is working as L3 at Google just for brand name.

Thanks for the info. They could probably leverage that brand for higher pays in early age start-ups, so it's not too bad of a deal.
