AI company offer- Accept or reject?

Hello all, I am working as a SDE-2 in a fintech company with a decent package, I have got an offer from an Indian AI company with a valuation of ~2M USD, which is offering me the position of tech lead and equity of 1% but a salary decline of about 20%.

Company is very small with a CTO cum co-founder and other two co-founders.

Should I consider it as risk is huge but company is growing rapidly and plans to become profitable in the next 6-8 months.

If they plan to be profitable in 8 months, no way they're giving away 1% equity to anyone, let alone tech lead.

Their valuation is 2M/17cr. If they raised say 2cr (10%) then good luck with paying salaries lmao.

Pre-seed (No product, no customer, just idea) get $10M nowadays. Seed round (idea validation- either customer or license) can be $20-$50M.

What are the smoking talking about profitability at this level? Who's paying for the compute/training costs!?

Yes, I was also unable to comprehend how can they turn profitable with so less cash in hand. Something sounded off.

Most likely not joining them.
