Amazon DE vs BIE

Anyone aware of the role and pay difference between Amazon Data Engineer and Business Intelligence Engineer for L5 role? Checked with couple of contacts in those roles and both say similar roles while pay seems to at least 30 to 40% less for BIE.

Planning to take an interview for BIE role.

How did you apply? Was it a referral? I interviewed for a DE role in feb. And there was a big tamasha that happened after that. Was just curious to know. Also, following this question because I want answers too.

Correct. DE bands are higher. This especially matters at higher levels.

DE work is more technical in nature- like creating data pipelines etc. BIE works more on the business side.
