Anyone working in climate tech or interested in this field?

I’m exploring clean tech space(related to renewable energy/tackling climate change). Any pointers about problems and opportunities in this space will be very helpful. Please share ideas around this space. Thanks🙏

Below are the two insights I have gathered till now.

  1. The biggest problems brought on by climate change will be 1) water shortages 2) crop failure and 3) flooding of low-lying areas, probably in that order. The "solutions" for 1 and 2 (water desalination and vertical farming) are being worked on by plenty of organizations. A few are also working on fast and efficient construction of housing, but I think that's where the biggest business opportunity lies. - Some online forum[2016]
  2. The commercially viable innovations in clean energy will not come from the government-financed research project to make solar effort source of power in developed markets. Rather the successful innovation will emerge from the companies who carve disruptive footholds by targeting non-consumption and moving up marketing better products only after they started simple and small. - From innovators solution book
