This Apple vision pro is confusing me as where the VRtech is heading.
Meta is closing down the VR product line, metaverse whereas Apple is confident enough to sell a VR headset worth 3500$!!
Any interesting thoughts on this?
VR tech has the potential to become the new television of our times. Simple as. AR ka zyada nahi bata sakunga because use cases are very different.
VR will catch up real fast. Log Apple mein gaand mara rahe hein, aur yahan Jio 1399 mein VR headset bechkar IPL aur movie dikha Raha hai.
Do you have any sales numbers for Jio headsets? Atleast no one is using in my circle.
In my opinion, VR and AR are only going to get better and slowly adopted in the mainstream as the devices get slimmer and powerful.
Meta hasn't closed Metaverse yet and even if they close it, it would be one failed project. They aren't pulling out of the VR industry completely. In the fall of this year, they will come out with Meta Quest 3.
Apple's headset is pricey for sure but they also know enthusiasts and early adopters will buy and test it out. Eventually, they will get the headset better and less pricey though, you can bet it will remain more expensive than other offerings.
Similar hypothesis we had once for voice assistants/Alexas of the world. Infact, Apple launched a similar VA and it’s seen nowhere now.
Apple is trying it out, the product isn’t even in hands of users yet. Although did read good things from folks who tried it at WWDC.
Until the pricing is sorted this will be a niche product. I can guess they might release a Vision SE in future, who knows.
Even google didn’t succeed with glass, let’s see how Apple does with it. I’m frankly excited although I can never dream to afford the headset at the current price point.
Also what if they don’t sell it at all? Like AirPower 😂😂. But stakes are higher here so they will probably sell.
I don’t think we can compare it with google glass. I have personally used the google glass when they released the Dev version. Use cases associated with glass were limited. Remember the screen size was too small.
Looks quite well built, but as of now not a lot of real use cases as apps would be missing to cater this Pricing is only 4000 USD. Anyone apple fan planning to get it ?
