Are International schools overhyped ?

I saw a linkedin post where his daughter is going to admit in grade-1 and below is the fee structure quoted by one of the top international schools.

What's your opinion on this ?

Another reason not to have kids

Not like that, my personal opinion is until class 12, it doesn't matter where the kids study. Instead of spending this much on fees, Can spend on future savings.

I have put my daughter in a good CBSE schools in Mumbai and the fees here is 1.8 lakhs yearly excluding bus fees and she is in nursery with fees going up 15 percent every two years. I feel the education system here is becoming worse and worse in terms of it being capital oriented.

Education quality is declining

Only the school owners are earning money. They are not giving a fair salary to the teachers, staff and other stakeholders in the education system.

I don't get, how did international schools suddenly become synonyms of GOOD education.

Parents want to do the best fiseable for them, it doesn't hurt to help kids start with "nicer mahol around"

Totally unrelated still writing down my story and thoughts.

I've been through 5 different schools (2000-2016), everytime it changed, in hindsight there was noticable improvement in classroom's though process, and these are people I "grew up with"

Not to downplay on individual's journey, but few of my childhood friends are working as unskilled industrial labour, on the other hand folks which i met later in nicer school albeit with privilege are currently in big tech jobs.

Another anecdote, in 5th grade my classmates were peeking under girls skirts and teachers not giving a damn, gross generalization but it's the type of crowd I'd want to avoid now, in 12th grade my classmates made building's detailed replica in SketchUp.

Another thing is some schools do their part to shield kids from jee/neet grind, and opening up broader possibilities.

Yes, international schools are overhyped. Children in the US and the UK are much weaker in math than Indian children. Their syllabi do not give more importance to science and math.

I studied engineering for 4 years for a amount slightly higher than this. The parents in these times are doomed, for any kind of academic fees.

Education Inflation is skyrocketing in India in the absence of quality Govt schools

Have you planned investments well so that your children can study in a reasonably quality private schools/colleges in metro cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Bangluru? The education inflation in India is around 8%.
