Are you considering Companies with strict WFO mode?
Recently got a call for Cleartax where HR told there is no wfh option. It instantly created very negative image of the company.
I have interviewed with other companies but they all say it is hybrid or remote. I was surprised to hear "You have to come 5 days to office".
Are you guys even considering such companies?

The previous startup I was working in fired over 40 folks who refused to come to the office once it reopened. And by fired, it was more asking people to resign. And they hired those employees stating that it would be permanent WFH. And Amazon is en route to doing the same: https://www.businesstoday.in/amp/technology/news/story/its-probably-not-going-to-work-out-for-you-amazon-ceo-warns-employees-working-from-home-396092-2023-08-29
My point is that, any company that offers a permanent WFH may always change its decision. People have to start warming up to the idea of getting comfortable with WFO. Because the harsh reality is that the company won’t have any problem finding people interested in WFO, especially with so many layoffs happening.

- competition is so high for ea h position

Companies are not democracy. They have a choice and so do you all.
I agree that 2/3/4 days WFO is best. But roles in ops, sales, investments etc. where discussion with other folks are required needs 5 day office. Plus early stage startups also need it.

I think hybrid is the way.

Hybrid but with 8-9 days a month.
