Automation Testing or Data Scientist role??

So i'm working as a manual test engineer from 1.6years and started to prepare for automation testing to upskill and get a high paid job. Meanwhile i'm hearing that these Testing jobs will not earn as much as a data science roles and market value onsite opportunities will have huge impact. So very much confused what to do now???
