AWS CEO: No more programmers in 2 years
"If you go forward 24 months from now, or some amount of time — I can't exactly predict where it is — it's possible that most developers are not coding," said Garman, who became AWS's CEO in June.
"Coding is just kind of like the language that we talk to computers. It's not necessarily the skill in and of itself," the executive said. "The skill in and of itself is like, how do I innovate? How do I go build something that's interesting for my end users to use?"
So the future is just telling an AI model to build my low tps high latency CRUD microservice for me? Will we get paid the same??

Dear AI, please do it fast.
Let's do farming again.
Race for 3bhk and SUV should end.
Consumerism killing everything
Thanks Amazon ceo and Jensen Huang alongwith Altman :D

If I were trying to sell my overprovisioned AI infrastructure, which I had bought into because of hype, that's exactly the kind of statements I'd be making. Anyone who tells you AI will kill programming careers is either lying or has never worked software a day in their life. This guy has an agenda and it's completely understandable
When you think it through, most top level decision makers in companies are non software people, and this is the cohort the AWS CEO is trying to pull in. Create FOMO so that big projects are provisioned with AI infra.

The agenda part is True but still entry level jobs will definitely take a hit.

Ture

Big news developers working so future developers can’t get work!

CEOs won't be CEOing in 10yrs

In other news, the number of tea stalls across the country has exploded.
Reports that this is correlated to the lack of jobs couldn’t be confirmed at the time of printing.
“Don’t worry kids,” Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal said. “Under the visionary leadership of Modiji, Bharat will be a $500 bazillionton economy by 2500 AD.”
“LOL”, responded Narayan Murthy’s office in our request for a reaction to this development.

Okay, let AI do my project I don't want to do it.

Damn that’s a big claim from a big man

The point here is, AI may not sweep entire developer staff off the shelf overnight but may reduce significant head count in the team. We're already witnessing it..
