Suggestions please/ PMF for a Hiring Platform

So I have been unemployed for ~2 months now and wanting to do something on my own that is fun, fulfilling and has a scope for monetization I realised during my job hunt that most recruiters (3P) are clueless about the hiring requirements of the job and usually cold call/ randomly generate leads through basic LinkedIn search. Most of the folks eventually don't hear from them later because they profile didn't fit the need( obviously!) While not doubting their skills, I realised head hunting could be much more targeted through better classification of JDs and candidates and recruiters could save time both for them and candidates through better screening while improving conversions... I'm planning to build a marketplace of sorts aimed at matching jr to mid level tech talent with JDs( you know how generic and open ended they can be!) I want to start this entire service as free for the current yr at least given the job scenario and later monetize through recruiters and TAs I have mostly figured out most of the workflows and can get the MVP ready in a couple of days worth of dev work but what I'm skeptical is whether candidates might feel data security as an issue( something that leads to a shrinking candidate pool to pick from) Feel free to leave your thoughts/ critiques/ feedbacks; good or bad both are welcome Thanks for your time and double thanks if you took time to comment :)

From what I can gather, you’ll be using tech to match JDs with the CV to figure out relevance? This is well discovered, and most new job platforms do this now. Also, I’m not sure if recruiters mentioned but their ATS should probably have this as well. Let me know in case I’m missing something here though

You are right, the objective is to reduce the candidate funnel through some rule driven filters; but my understanding is ATS look for keywords and most probably people who have done something similar might only get shortlisted. Rarely do i see ATS being an intelligent means to judge for quality and competence so I want to keep it manual and more human My plan is to use very barebones tech to generate demand and supply, classify both JDs, and profiles ( beyond can write user stories, can wireframe etc) and then get a panel to stack rank them according to the job in hand. We are a bunch of 5-6 Senior/Lead PMs who actively match leads to profiles through our network and get them a few good folks, so we felt it's high time we cast the net for a wider audience and also make the headhunters pay if required.

Very interesting. Tbh I haven’t done as much market work here, but your clarity of thought is super exciting Just one thing I would say - jobs has typically been a tough category to scale, but profitable, so do look into some of the existing startups to figure basis what scale of outcome you want :)
