How to effectively pitch in for a first time hike!

I've kept log of my daily work since I've started working. At the end of tenure year this gave me a nice look back on what I've achieved in the past year. This way I generated a bulleted summary on all my achievements and notable tasks I've done. Then I evaluated each pointer in the summary and updated them with quantifiable metrics. All this was done for me to have a foothold in negotiations. Then I applied for positions at other companies, got myself in their interview process. Got rejected a many, got ghosted and offered at some. I took the offers and my performance report to my manager during the appraisal process. We discussed shit for hours, my performance, my shortcomings, company growth, family etc. Circling around the 'appraisal' but not talking about it. I wanted to cut to the chase but kept my patience. Then at the very very end of the call, after me asking about appraisal. I was told, "oh yes. Usual 8%" I immediately showed them current standing offers and stated the CTC I wanted. I knew the company could afford it. I figured that out during 'circling'. My ask was for 105% raise. I didn't budge. I knew my number. I had competing offers. I had my performance report. After little negotiation. Got hike at 96%. Moral. Check the waters. Get competing offers. Be confident. Ask, don't budge. Take your dear ones on a cute party once you get 'written' confirmation.
