Reality of neoG bootcamp
The camp in my opinion is not what it claims to be. People who are doing well in the camp are the ones who took matters in their own hand and started learning on their own. Pros: 1. Practice sets were given often(There were 27 practice sets of all topics) which helped us form the practice for writing code for hooks without wasting time in thinking about the approach. 2. Community is good. MA’s are very helpful and will guide you in every situation. Taking the time out of their busy schedule. Very thankful to them. 3. Machine coding rounds were conducted. Which helped us speed up the process. 4. Revision sessions were conducted for people who couldn’t understand the lecture taken by Tanay. These sessions were taken by Akanksha. Cons: 1. Redux was removed from course even though it is mentioned on the website. They say that redux is not important but it is, companies ideally want their candidates to know redux. 2. Tanay simply skims through a topic, does not go in depth inside any topic. An advice which he ironically gives in his youtube videos. He ignores any advanced questions asked in the session claiming he has not covered yet. Says he will teach later and does not cover that topic later. 3. We were forbidden to discuss anything that isn’t taught yet.Stopping the flow of knowledge. That means you can’t even use the community to discuss something new because they haven’t taught it yet. 4. MA’s(Ex-neoGrads) were discouraged from answering questions about topics that weren’t taught yet. They used to host sessions on hard topics that people didn’t understand in voice chats but were discouraged to do so. 5. Didn’t even cover the dependency array in useEffect hook. He just said you will keep it empty 90% of the time. useMemo and useCallback were not even mentioned. Forget about code optimizations. Honestly, you will learn more in a 30min youtube video than in their class. Continued in comments......

I am from 2022 batch. The only good thing about the camp was community/people in it.
Rest only Cons.
Its been a year and i am still discovering and learning new things about React while on the job.
The depth was very shallow. Wasted my 35k which is worth just 500 udemy course.
Tanay, her sister and wife are making fool of all the people.
Its like we pay them money to watch their lifestyle. Aaj mein yaha gaya tha, maine ye khareeda, mera itna bada ghar, meri behen ko kisine phool diya aaj, i love my wife.

I joined Neog hoping to learn Advanced Full stack but LOL this whole bootcamp is a scam. They are only focussed on earning money. A simple 500rs Udemy course will teach you more than this Channa mereya drama. There has been 0 percent addition in my knowledge after joining NEOG because I already know basics I wanted to learn Advanced things.
1) No Lectures on memo and callback
2) No Redux
3) DSA lol (mentioned on the website)
4) Backend LMAO ( mentioned on the websit)
5) Industry Standard Coding - why is it even mentioned on the website.
I have no problem with Neog Do whatever you want. But please don't lie about your course. Just Mention it on your website that you will only teach basics. I regret that hard-earned money of my parents is wasted.

Camp end hone ko hai, abhi tk Tanay ke muh se Vitual Dom, reconciliation, diff , react fiber enme se ek bhi word nahi suna maine.

6. This has happened 2-3 times where even before starting the lecture, he asks us to keep our expectations low since market conditions are worse and you should not expect above 3 - 5lpa.
7. Tanay is not even present in the camp much. He just comes to take lectures and has come twice/thrice in neoG server asking for project updates of students. He is busy with Invact and does not have the time.
8. For CSS only basics were covered that too not very well. Vikram sir taught us well but due to personal reasons he could not take more than two sessions, further classes were taken by Tanay. Advanced CSS mentioned on the website is nowhere to be seen.
9. None of the special guest sessions mentioned on the website has happened yet.
10. The roc-8 also tells you that don’t expect a package more than 5lpa. Also you get 5lpa if you are very good. They don’t force you to accept but they try to brainwash you by saying don’t compare yourself with someone else. Just get into the field and you will earn money eventually. Think long term.
11. Once someone asked Akanksha that they are facing some problem in CSS, they said you should ask other students if they are able to do it, which was funny because they haven’t even taught the basics properly for which students have paid. And instead of teaching students they are asking them to learn from others.
12. The whole strategy of neoG seems to be to get maximum people placed not caring about the students' caliber and if they can score a decent package or not. They are teaching you accordingly, not going in depth about any topic.
13. Interview practice is bogus as well. They covered closures/scope in 15 minutes max, they didn’t feel the need to go in depth and help us understand better.
14. Classes are scheduled for 3 - 3.5 hours, but are always finished in half the duration. Initially there were no classes on Saturday. Classes were held only on saturday for 2 months in the start and not on saturday and sunday.
15. Honestly you should join neoG only if you don’t know anything and have 35k to spend, which they have increased now. So, you’ll be paying 47500 including GST. You will honestly learn a lot more in an udemy course of react and JS which costs around 350-450. Be careful where you spend your money.

All in all I am a better dev due to neog but realised that Neog is more of community than teaching.
No spoon feeding , community teaches you.

I request every student who is planning to join neoG Camp 2024, kindly save yourself and spread the word about this. There a lot a people who still think these people are doing something great but in reality they are just minting money with bare minimum effort.
Tanay is busy with invact. He won't have time for you. So if you are fascinated by his YouTube videos and are planning to join, you are in for a major disappointment.

As a neogrammer 23 . I'm confirming this to be true. I have also joined with so many dreams but they took my money , ranted haule haule day in & day out and at the end they didn't even taught anything important and advance stuffs on frontend domain forget about full stack which they claim in their official site. Before coming to neog I was learning react by myself and had good knowledge about it but they didn't even taught what I had already know.
They didn't teach redux, advance css and even in react they just introduced it.
When it comes to interview preparation they fooled us. They took 1hr of class on it and taught nothing. Not even basic DSA which they have claimed in official site.
I felt cheated at the end by spending 35k.
PS: MAs are very helpful and they help us whole heartedly. I have deep respect for these people.

Overall not worth it.
Tanay Pratap should stop thinking that people are fool and will agree to whatever tech bro will say. Literally kept the level of the whole camp dumb and then expecting people to join with mediocre salaries through their hiring partners.
Advanced frontend my foot. He doesn't even teach basics properly. Just uses his social media presence to influence college kids who basically are ready to sing to his tunes.

Thanks for floating this up! I am from 2021 batch and I can clearly see the quality degrading in the newer batches.
What I suggest is it's hard at this point to raise these concerns with the management, they simply won't understand (if they could, they would have fixed it way early)
Better to collaborate with each other in the camp. And use the community you have, atleast to get something out of it. You can plan to learn something together, and also ask MAs for help (tell them that you are doing it with or without their help, so they better help you)
Your money is wasted anyway, so why not try to get something out of it.
Anyways, it's very sad to hear these things. 45k is a lot of money. Heck it was even a lot in 22 batch (35k).

Oh come on, no one is scamming students. It's the students who are fool. Ab jab koi saamne se paise de rha ho to kahe ka scamming. I pity those students.
All these edtech are the founders' quick rich scheme. Is this that rocket science to understand that simple fact? And then after every edtech, these students come and post the same stuff that start-up scammed them.
Such students are to be scammed.
As a Frontend Engineer who learned everything from scratch over the course of 3 years, this post saddens me. I did not have enough funds to even spend 400rs on Udemy courses, so I just got some free course on telegram, just copy pasted code and went about like that for a year, and then started to learn from youtube and official docs only. I got some terrific paying internships and full time offers of more than 20lpa by just doing this.
Seeing such scams rampantly running through our edtech space are just a sad reality that people only care about growing their "startup" and not your future.
My 2 cents on how to become a job ready frontend engineer in 1 year for absolutely free:
1. Get the basics of HTML and CSS right from some crash course video. You dont need a deep dive, you need the basics just on point.
2. Build some simple static pages, copy code from YT but just get your hands dirty.
3. Once confident, start learning JS from Namaste Javascript by Akshay Saini. Trust me, its that good.
4. Once done with HTML, CSS and JS, again get your hands dirty by building projects. Copy code, write some on your own, you should have an idea of what basic frontend code looks like.
5. Learn React (coz its the most popular and most demanded) from some YT Crash Course (Codevolution is an amazing channel).
6. Make a shit ton of React webapps. Learn eveything in detail by building and writing code.
7. ...
8. Profit?
This should be good enough to get you a 6lpa naukri easily. All the best, dont give Tanay bhaiyya your monies.

Plus the market is shitting right now, so yeah expect less opportunities in current times. Keep learning other things like real engineering, system design, read companies tech blogs, unit testing, etc.

Kudos to you whoever posted it. I wish I could personally thank you for doing this. I am a neog 23 student and confirm everything that is mentioned here is 100% true. I am a working professional who aspired to become an advanced frontend developer after joining this camp. I am from a tier-3 college and using my hard earned money registered for this scam. If I had not signed any legal document at the beginning then I would've posted all of this content publicly.
All the students who are going to join this camp, please don't 🙏. Tanay is just another Byju. There are many andh bhakt neogrammers who still think Tanay, Tanvi and Akanksha are God n all. And they defend them like hell. They just don't want to accept that they got scammed. Personally I don't have any grudge against Akanksha because she never refrained from answering extra doubts asked by the students unlike Tanay who says "magic". But it is a fact that she was also involved in this joint scam of tanay bhaiya and tanvi didi.
On top of this they have this leaderboard shit going on instilling the feeling of competition among students. Seriously how does it solve the education system you were claiming to remove. You just started the rat race here too. Everyone please take the screenshots of whatever they have mentioned on their website before they update it and claim it was there already.
Also I request the author of this post to once again share this link in the team tanay channel.
The only good thing happened from this camp was I got to know so many new people with great minds and share a special bond with some of them. Also it's the MAs who are actually teaching us something. They are the ones who are actually running this camp. Huge respect for them for doing all of this for free.
Also now I know channa mereya and haule haule songs by heart. Thank you neoGscam aka neoGcamp.
The main theme of this camp was to pay 35k for the camp and go for a 20k job in a metro city.
