I was recently looking into options to invest money mostly into PMS and AIF , and also came across pre ipo funds and venture funds .. any recommendations or new insights on this in terms of taxation ?

You need to have a KYI first to have a clearn plan , this defines what kind of approach you should have based on your personal finances and other factors into consideration and then you can get a plan for your needs. For example here moderately aggressive term is kinda a little ambiguous your capital and your sip value defines your growth , I'll tell you how - most of the time stocks which are in thousands make good return than the stocks which are in double digits in price so your range and frequency of investing makes a huge difference in percentage roi , let me give you a example DeepakNTR recently moved from 2100 to 3k recently in a short span that's almost 50% but RBA which is around price if 110 or so didn't move much and both of them have been bought heavily by institutional investors but RBA was a low return stock. My point being your capital and your frequency of capital infusion defines a better stratagy for a safer and positive ROI's
