Register & file GST as a contractor

Anyone has an idea on how taxes work if you're working remotely for a foreign (say US) company. Is it like you are taxed both from the US and India? For those who are working in such companies, it will be great if you can shed some light here.

Hi, I am currently working as an SDE in India. I want to start a small business (online consultancy) with a friend which will require some legal stuff like GST and partnership firm/company registration in India. For the initial days of the business, we will be working full time as well and will work on our business in our free time. If this scales well, we'll probably leave our jobs and work on the business full time. Now, I have a few questions regarding this - is it a case of moonlighting? - What will happen if my employer gets to know this in the future? - What are the legal implications in India for this? - What are the workarounds for this? I've seen many people selling some courses or having a restaurant or some small business along with full time employment. How do they manage to do so?

I did not pay any taxes in 2022, since I had not made any money. From March '22 to March '23, I made around 28L, so 14L taxable. However, I'm only seeing advance tax payment option. How do I pay tax for last year, or is it not needed and I pay advance tax only by extrapolating this year's income. Or is the advance tax I'm paying for last year only? Pls help, thanks.

I'm a software dev contractor and I'm working for 2 companies, having a total income of 50L per annum. when I consulted a CA, he mentioned that I'll have to pay 18% GST (since business income is over 20L) and will also have to pay 30% income tax. i understand taxes are important and all, but I'm so not willing to give 6 months of my hard work to the government. can anyone please advise me on what to do to save on taxes
