Why do Indians hate India?

The US is in its late stage capitalist phase, a ship that's going to sink for the next 50 years. If you're a young person there it doesn't make sense to work as hard as your Grandpa the reward on average isn't as great. India on the other hand is poised to become a great multi-trillion $ economy. Onto something huge. We're talking like 10x growth of the economy here. Start-ups that have made it like Razorpay, Swiggy, PayTM, even Cred, if they survive will be really huge as capital in the country, liquidity and lifestyles go up over the next 50 years. Be the capitalist, take the risks, make bets, work and stack up promotions and money. Don't join an Infosys and work 70 hours there, do it for a start up of any scale you believe is going to make it. Or better yet start your own.

In India, suppressing the real economic and social data on unemployment, health, education, etc., is the cure. So no need to improve anything as everything is world-class already.

It's a very Indian mindset to treat or look down upon people who make a lot of money. We find some or the other reason to bring them down. We call them names. Though most of our life problems can be solved by money. Just like there is an American dream I think the Indian dream is to stay middle class and bitch about people who do the hard work. I understand that there are certain classes of people who are truly disadvantaged in terms of caste or patriarchy but for others it's just being lazy and reluctant to change. Bitching about people who are successful just gives them a sense of achievement without actually putting in the effort.

I just can't, day by day the things I experience in this place makes me hate this country more. On average, Indians are terrible people.

Don't entirely agree- In the early 1980s, China and India had comparable GDP levels, both being predominantly agrarian economies with similar per capita incomes. However, China's GDP grew exponentially over the following decades due to a series of market-oriented reforms initiated in 1978 by Deng Xiaoping. In contrast, India's economic liberalization began later, in 1991, and while it has also experienced significant growth, it has not matched the pace or scale of China's economic transformation.

Like America before us, we too possess a unique spirit. It is one shaped by a millenia of civilization; the innovation and resilience. It is a spirit that has endured through centuries of adversity, emerging stronger and more vibrant with each passing generation. What sets us apart is not just our culture but even our unwavering belief in the power of Indians to shape their own destiny. From the smallest of towns in rural India to the tech scene in Bangalore, we are a nation brimming with energy, creativity, and ambition. We are a nation on the cusp of greatness, poised to unleash its full potential upon the world stage. Already, we see glimpses of India's greatness to come. But perhaps most importantly, I see it in the eyes of our youth. It is a generation brimming with hope, optimism, and a hunger for success. What do you think?

I’ve always had this question on why Indians are very stingy when it comes to paying money for premium products. I agree there are Indians especially in the young generation who aren’t shy from spending for quality products but the masses are still stuck in the bargaining or cheap mindset. When we look for cars the first thing we probably check is kitna mileage dega ? When we look at a premium product we compare it to a copy or a product that does not offer the same quality or service that a premium product offers. What are the reasons to it and when or how can we come out of it. This is one of the reasons we have got the “slave / miser ” label outside our county and why we’ve got weak passports which make it difficult to take a vacation like citizens of other countries .

This question is posed to you by Peter Thiel in his book "Zero to One" My answer to this is: We are in a big cycle where India will become everything great. Last 8 years have taught me that we are in the greatest momentum bet of this country's life time. So, don't rule out India. Build in India. Invest in India. Believe in India. There are many in this community that are complete nihilists and supremely bearish towards India's prospects. And let me tell you, for once in this country's history, being a complete maximalist on India is a bet that you will not regret. There will be a new generation of millionaires and billionaires that will be minted on new industries. So keep hustling and this country will unleash great dividends for you and your legacy.
