Is it worth joining Amazon as SDE 1,

I am 2023 grad. I have joined a product based company. Next year, I want to join a good company like Rubrik, Uber, DE Shaw, Bloomberg etc. What should I learn? How to utilise this year to switch to a good company? PS: For me, a good company means high salary and challenging work environment. I don't care about work life balance.

People in tech are in over their heads. There’s been an unsustainable inflation in salaries and somehow 20 somethings have actually started believing their skills are worth what they’re making I speak to so many engineers who just with two years of experience are making 30-40 LPA packages. They actually believe they are better than people in say banking who make the same salary after 15 years of grinding it out. It’s all supply-demand. Supply will soon catch up to the demand. Salary normalization will happen. Your salaries may not grow for years if you don’t personally grow as well in skill set and become more valuable overall. At the least, don’t have an attitude about how much you make. Stay humble. Enjoy the good times while they are still here

Hi everyone recently got job offer. And here is the what I'm getting. Is it good. Job role : SDE1 Tech stack : Nodejs, React, AWS, DevOps CCTC: 6.5 all fixed Offer CTC : 8 fixed + 4 L ESOP + 1 to 1.5 performance bonus Is it worth it. I will be getting another offer 8.5 fixed. How to negotiate for that. It's is first switch and I was laid off in Feb. I'm moderately good at problem solving and have LC : 1600+ CF : 1450+ Please share your view. I'm really open for suggestions. Thanks in advance.

Hi I have worked in two startups as backend engineer and here I only did the given work and didnt proactively contribute much to the products. I have been given promotion to SDE 2 without any salary hike. I recently got laid off and I feel like I am not eligible for SDE 2 interviews. I can clear dsa rounds but suck in design rounds. I got a job with same salary at a service based company and I am thinking to join and then prepare to be better at design. is it a good decision? should I join it? YOE: 3y TC: 24L

Have an offer from a growth stage startup for SDE Intern. Subsequently, also an offer from Fintech PBC. Tech stack at Startup: Java, Spring, MongoDB Tech stack at Fintech PBC: Testing framework and tools Startup stipend: 25K Fintech PBC stipend: 60K My inclination is more towards the SDE role purely because of the wide exposure while the money at Fintech is too good for now but there is not much room from growth and also with Al taking over. Help me make a decision!

Hiring for a bunch of roles for an early stage startup. Salaries of people who have been laid off is through the roof 2-3 years experience asking for 30-40l and while we chose not to judge the experience and spoke to a few of them, most of them are not even worth half of the pay. Many are jobless since last 2-3 months and none of them are willing to take a paycut of even 5-6L and are willing to stay jobless ( probably have a ton of savings ) Market correction is necessary. I worked for the first 3 years of my career as an SDE at a bank. I was allocated to an internal tooling team which meant that I got no exposure to cloud technologies like AWS, architectures like microservices and frameworks like Spring Boot which are in high demand today. I wasn't even allowed a team change in that bank. To compensate for this lack of experience, I created a basic project from scratch involving these technologies. But still, my resume is not getting shortlisted at any premier company for SDE/SDE2 positions. I would really appreciate if you guys could please suggest a way forward for me and help me out. Thanks!
