Seasoned business owners, what's your biggest startup blunder?

Hi All, I am thinking of starting up in a space that in very passionate about and feel I have a unique insight. I also have a cofounder who I know from a long time from college when we studied comp science What are some common pitfalls to avoid at the early stage of an startup?

Folks out there who are starting up a company or have built one. What according to you is the most challenging part? - getting clients, employee management (hiring and retaining), getting funds or investors, dealing with govt policies (taxes) or anything else?

Im working as a developer in a unicorn startup with good salary for my age. But from college time I was interested in entrepreneurship trying different thing and later after completing college I joined this unicorn and worked hard, shifted to their new stealth startup and worked there with for 1yr, tried to work in every possible opportunity that I got with design team, product managers and learnt how to build a startup from scratch, but later due to creative issues in top level management and less revenue than the competitors the startup was shutdown and I was moved back to the unicorn and again started working as an developer. Tried different things from then 1. Tried joining top B schools but couldn’t afford 2. Tired pitching ideas to friends, seems like no one interested in taking risk leaving the life they have now 3. Tried starting few things on my own but always end up failing with no support 4. Tried attending conferences but that too never led me anywhere Now don’t have as many friends interested in entrepreneurship or mentors to guide me. Just passing the days doing the same work again and again please suggest me what to do next or give me any kind of advice

Hello everyone; I am starting a non-profit startup that aims to help people around the world quit any of their bad habits or harmful addictions in the most natural and habitual manner. This is my very first startup so I need advice on what I should do in the initial days and what to avoid. The MVP is ready which is a discord community and it's fully customized [I also got a few moderators to manage it] and there's also a landing page that I can share with my audience so they can get more information as well as find it trustworthy instead of just a spam link. Now; the next step is to promote it online to get audience so should I take some expert help or use related communities to spread the word? Also; anything else that needs to be done or avoided? Since childhood, I've always had the mindset to start my very own business. I have a lot of ideas to work on. Just don't know how to start communicating it with others, and how can I meet like-minded people? Tell me if you've had the same experience and how you went with it?

Here's a little bit about my career: - I dropped out of college to build a design studio with 20+ people for 4 years before leaving that to start another studio. - I’ve worked across most major startups in Bangalore (not including brand names here for anonymity) - I’ve worked across brand identity design, UX/UI, social media marketing, ad films, animation/motion graphics, and 3D Happy to answer questions about design, freelancing, starting an agency/studio, the design industry, etc.

I have a few ideas for products I want to build in few niche spaces. At the same time I’m always a bit skeptic in discussing this with friends thinking they might ask for too much equity in partnership The downside is that I feel I have to know everything to even get started How did you do it? If you built your startup, at what point in your life while working full time you started working your own thing and how was the journey like? Any tips you’d give a budding entrepreneur

took the plunge, started up last year. burned all savings, couldn't raise any capital. tried multiple things, nothing took off. decided to shut down in june. shutting down was harder than starting up, finished things up by october. been looking for jobs since, with no luck. had kick-ass jobs prior to this. no clue what is happening now. really want to give starting up another shot but have lost all motivation. so lost. no idea what to do.

I have 2 job offers in hand and now am a bit confused. Need your advice on decision-making, 1st offer - Jaipur location - investing and trading company, offering me an Equity Research Analyst role with a profit-sharing in the new business division which they are developing. 2nd offer - Bangalore-based startup, recently raised $550k, has 18 months of runway, the current scale is low.. they are offering me mixed roles - 50% of the time will go into Social Media and Content, 30% in Business and 20% in Finance. ESOPs will be based on 6-8 months of performance. Now I have 2 career paths in mind: 1) I want to do CFA and get into the core finance side... it might also lead me to the VC, PE, or IB side. 2) Startup - I have done startup in the past but failed. I want to do startup again but currently want to join a good startup where I can learn from experienced people. I don't know how I should go about deciding b/w these 2 career paths. If you were in my shoes, how would you make a decision?
