You are not missing anything, it is an extremely shoddy article with the first half saying masa has not invested any money in India this year and the second half drawing on Sharechat's valuation woes. Softbank (and likes of Tiger) have made series of bad investments for them to make new ones. They seriously pushed for the ARM ipo because that would leave them with cash.
I wouldn't take Softbank not investing in India seriously as they have to get their sh8t together first.
The article will not tell you anymore than the headline did. This is just their bait to get the sign up. There is nothing of substance mentioned in the article.
My personal view: SoftBank pulling out of India is more of a SoftBank issue than an India issue
