Career prospects?

I have around 4.5 YOE I started from a service based company where I had clients like PwC and Tata Play Then moved to Target as a Data Engineer Last month, I switch from Target after 2 years, to CRED as Backend engineer. How’s my journey so far? Current CTC, 34 fixed. How am I doing? I plan to switch after I have around 6-6.5 YOE? How likely is it for me to crack a job in another reputed US/EU company or maybe one outside India?

Any career tips you can give?

Well you are doing great. Please dont compare your journey with others. Compare it with your goals and you’d love to see yourself. Keep acing :)

Thanks :) Certainly not someone to compare, but I’m just trying to evaluate more on how to keep at it in terms of growth and TC, as well as learning.

Keep learning whatever techstack and opportunity that comes your way. After a couple of years someone from an mnc might look up to you as a specialist so probably you can also develop people management skills if you see yourself out there

To make it from a service based company to Cred is impressive in itself You're definitely doing well... as long as you're somewhat enjoying what you do

Curious - why do you want to switch to a US/EU company? I hear good things about Cred

Not now for sure. Got a lot of things to learn From future perspective, just considering the options that I can have Especially how an Indian company would look on resume if you apply for outside positions?

I think the best thing is to not compare yourself to others but just your past self, and in that you have been doing great so far. PS: please give me some guidance 😭

Yeah, not comparing at all. I myself think I’ve done pretty solid work so far to land here with companies like this on the resume. From guidance perspective, nothing too out of ordinary - only about keeping track of market, being good at learning new things and be good in taking pressure while interviews. Mostly that helps!
