Doesn't a firm know that before hiring they need to cut costs and then after hiring why would they layoff? Expecting to understand from the comments 😃

I've come really bizarre cases of companies laying off some division(s) while actively hiring in other division(s).
Why do they not transfer some of the to-be laid-off employees to the other divisions?

Why would a demoralised employee work? Better to have none than have some.
You can upset 10 employees by letting them go or upset 100 by pay cuts.
