Crickpe failed to scale on day 1
Crickpe failed to scale on day 1. They didn't expect this exponential traffic. Crickpe is build by code brew lab, chandigarh a service based company, their developer might not created such large scale app. Ashneer grover apologised for this.
Any thoughts on this?
How do you know it was built by code brew lab? And shouldn’t AWS take care of scaling ?
The developers have to scale servers up and down for Fantasy games, to accommodate for higher traffic before the match (when the majority of public creates teams due to line up availability), during the match (when players come to see live scoring in excitement while following the game), and scale down post games to the usual server capacity.
Having worked with Hotstar, UEFA, and D11 in the past, scaling up and down of server activity was quite pivotal and only comes with experience. AWS doesn’t automatically do stuff for you.
There’s auto scaling but not aware of its function set. But I see your point that it takes experience to drive it. How do u know who developed the app?
Expected! Launching any large scale product on day one is not easy at all
OP needs to research Code brew labs. It’s not a big shot company but they do seem to know their stuff about app development. Building and app and scaling in real time are two different things and you seem to be conflating them.
I exactly don't know how CrickPe is gonna survive? Do you even think, cricketers who are already earning in crores will need our TIP?
Just like its hotdog shops.. couldn’t scale !
