Are Digital Marketers finding Job ?

How is job market for Digital Marketing and growth for B2C. Most of the interest first or mobile first companies are not hiring or hiring at very less exp. and pay. Can see opening for B2B or product marketing but nothing much from Growth or Performance marketing. Read there are many who have been laid off some more than 6-8 months but still struggling to find the right opportunity. Also many senior level guys, on LinkedIn have got into consulting or Fractional CMO roles as they package might be high and no one is in need of such experienced senior ppl team. How or when this will change ? During 2018 or even 2020 many said Digital or growth marketing will be the future, demand will increase as all business, users go online.. but now seems to be other way round..

I guess it's industry specific. I'm from Fintech and been getting calls pretty regularly, like 3-4 in a month while I'm not actively looking out for an opportunity yet.

for growth marketers, imo, jobs are few. one is due to businesses reducing marketing spends and the biggest impact is on branding and then o performance spends second is, all the spends where the roi has not been positive, is also taking down a few gm roles

I have been actively applying for marketing jobs, the situation seems very dismal. Packages are pretty low, companies are not ready to pay above 12 lpa. Without an MBA, you will suffer. With an MBA, you will suffer but will have a loan to make life worse. What to do in the next one year to earn more than 30 lakhs

Why is it that the salaries for folks working in digital/ performance marketing/ growth roles way lower than tech/product roles? In most startups the mktg team is lean and impact per employee is high. Yet there is a huge discrepancy in the salaries. Can someone share their thoughts on this ? Is B2C product management dying in India?

I've been the job market for a while and have observed a remarkable shift in the number of opportunities in B2B compared to B2C PM roles. Most B2C companies in India like Swiggy, FK etc seem to have matured to the point where there's no further scope of optimising their online conversion/retention - the core KPIs of B2C PMs. On top of that, a lot of these companies are eyeing for IPOs soon which makes hiring and building new stuff even a lesser priority for them. Is my observation biased? Or is it actually the case that B2B roles are more in the market
