Job search
People who are recently doing a job search, how difficult is the current market Especially for generalist roles- Program Manager, Founders office, Product managers.
Also, how do you secure referrals.
Any tips would be helpful
Thanks
It's fucking brutal out there right now, I won't lie. I have fairly good skills, a tier 1 college, a good resume, good communication skills, but even getting to the first interview is hard. Companies are now going for 4-5 rounds at the SDE 2 level, it's fucking insane man. HRs trying to lowball at every opportunity, ghosting with no reason. One HR even asked me to come onsite for the interview and stopped picking calls on that day to confirm if it was still on. Heads up guys it's getting worse
This isn't to demotivate anyone but to just give you a heads up to trim your expectations so you don't end up borderline mad like me. Keep exploring keep pushing yourself, get that bag.
I've been interviewing and experience has been poles apart. Companies are hiring and I'm getting calls. It's not as brutal as it was.
Please reach out to college friends, friends, friends of friends in target companies and for target roles. It is what it is, and you will have to be more aggressive to get that call back
I need referrals too, pls help
