Have you ever taken sabbatical? Why? For How Long?
From folks who have taken sabbatical, want to understand, Why did you take it and for how long? What did you set out to do and was it worth it? Was it easy to return and join back work, what challenges you faced?
Hi, I have taken sabbatical leave for 6 months for a full time tech course. I planned this for shifting my career from cloud admin to software developer. I think this course has helped me a lot to understand the basic knowledge of different technologies related to full stack development. It is really hard to learn that only 6 months of course is promising to teach these many technologies but it was worth it to learn.
While applying for sabbatical, I had to take confirmation from my tower head and HR head for our dept. It was smooth as all were agreeing on my leave.
Still I am on leave so can't comment on the return part of leave. But before joining I have to inform the company so that they can look for the projects where they can tag me.
