Upraised Honest Reviews?
I am planning to take the course. After speaking to a few alumni peeps and after finding this thread below, I am keen on joining. Seems decent. https://www.quora.com/Is-Upraised-legit But I also saw few posts that are not helping me encourage to take this forward. Can I get some honest reviews about this? Preferably by someone who has themselves done the program or has talked to such learners closely.
Keep in mind all those reviews were written a year ago at the height of ZIRP and hiring spree of companies. The job scene for entry level roles in tech is very different now.

Completely agree
Just tap on the username of these commenters. All new profiles.
Don’t take their word. I don’t see any value in these courses.
They are one LinkedIn post away from being classified a Scam.
I was part of their Program (H2 of 2022), sharing my honest review.
Not even 10% of my batchmates got Shortlists. Forget placements, I speak about bare minimum shortlists.

I was trying to get into PM roles on my own for longtime, I was getting shortlisted at some places but keep getting rejections. Post zirp, there were no shortlists coming from applying myself but I really wanted to switch so I joined Upraised.
My experience
Learning
The learning and interview prep are one of the best highlights for me. Earlier, I used to structures the answers wierdly and I have not done any mocks as well. TBH, I am a person who needs some handholding and Upraised does a good job here.
Placements
Yes, I have seen and heard from other cohort mates, the shortlists have reduced and not many good companies are coming. But I got shortlisted for companies like Razorpay and Jar, couldn't clear the interview though. Finally got an offer from B2B SaaS company. I think it's more about job market and your profile fitment.
IMO, if you are someone who has been trying to get into PM roles and are struggling, you should definitely think about Upraised. Yes, I agree you can learn content from internet and practice with friends but TBH it won't work for most people as PM role is a very complex role and peer learning and mentoring is most effective here.

Bro, what questions were asked in Razorpay interview?
If you really believe the above profile interviewed with Razorpay, you are extremely gullible and there’s probably nothing you can do about it.
Was part of their July-Oct cohort last year, did not get a single shortlist through them, got an opportunity outside and took it.
Got laid off and reached out to their founder, got ignored.
Mock interviews were helpful, the course itself, not so much.
They have copied things word for word from the book "Tech Simplified" by Deepak Singh.

It's 2.5 lacs now, the fact that people are shelling out that kind of money speaks volumes about our gullible nature.

The reviews are either by employees or paid for, by people who get referrals for bringing others in. It is a lie that their placements are not good because of the market. They exist from 2019 or 2020, they take 7p people every month, why do they market the same 8-10 people repeatedly?
The quora thread seems pretty genuine. IMO.
I also checked the founders profile, seems pretty legit.
All responses are by employees or referrals by the 9-10 people who got placed in their 3-4 years of existence.
Good work, marketing team, commenting here with the 2 grapes you have earned on this fake review by your teammates.

They have curated good content, but similar content can be found online. Very few live interactions happen and people who take these classes hardly have any experience.
If you have 0-3 years of experience and have an engineering/MBA degree, you may get placed. Again, this has less to do with the course and more with what companies look for at APM level.
Still if you feel such a course could help you, join a cheaper one. There are many in the market. Paying 2 lacs+ is not even close to worth it.
Would recommend joining a free course on Swayam run by IIM B.

I have taken the course myself & it helped me immensely. Have shared my experience on some previous threads also.
I was able to transition into a product role after a civil engineering bg - which is really difficult. I don't think I could have done on my own.
Be smart about it and do your research - speak to people who have done the course & dont be fooled by random comments by people who have not taken the course themselves.
I took the course, the material was somewhat a combination of sources online and some of the content was from Cracking the PM Interview. Assignments are well-designed and you have a PM Mentor from the industry to guide you for most of the journey.
What I joined for was the PM course but I justified the fees because of the placements. I spoke to the program manager before joining and he was patient enough to sit with me for an hour and explain their rationale behind how they send out resumes. They don’t do a bulk-apply and they have a dedicated placement coordinator who understands what kind of companies you want to work with and helps you find a good match.
But coming to the placement itself, I think hardly 10-15% of my batch got placements. Even folks from the previous batch weren’t placed for close to 8-9 months when there was peak PM hiring. A trend of people who got placed was people who could speak really well and mingled with everyone in the cohort. Anecdotal, but it is what it is.
I got calls from a few companies but most of them has 50-70 employees and were small companies which could say bye-bye any day now. Plus, most of them couldn’t offer me a better pay than what I was making and were upfront about it. So, I opted out of placements after some days.
If you have been eyeing a career in Product Management, I’m sure you must have heard about Upraised. So, here’s my honest take on it.
Yes, the program is expensive, stellar placements aren’t a given and the program demands a lot of time and effort.
Despite the high cost, I think that there is a lot of value in the structured curriculum. The program brings all the study and research material pertaining to product management together in a cohesive way. This keeps your preparation on track.
The quality of content is also good, and it covers everything from articles to case studies. These materials can help in preparing for interviews. You will also get a chance to connect with product managers, mentors, and fellow members, who may help you further with referrals in their companies.
However, if your aim is to get a job, you might feel let down by the placement services. But if you’re looking for a quality transition into a product role, Upraised can be considered.
Did you joined? How you get PM role? Planning to join some course need clarity
