What’s the renewal rate of someone buying a 1 year program?
Can you share the broad thing you do there? (Product/Sales/Growth)
How is the culture at Byjus now? What makes you stay there?
I'm into Tech and we are solving some good engineering problems that's the sole reason for me to stay here.

Are the messed up sales practices (selling EMI based courses without knowledge of parents etc.) a structural problem at Byjus or is it more one-off?
It's not a structural program at Byjus but it is messed up by the sales team to meet their targets and they find it easy to convince poor parents from tier-2, tier-3 cities.

I guess this is a practice (selling EMI based course on loan under your name) across most of the edtech startups

SPAC was a zero interest rate phenomenon. It is dead now.

Whats the impact of all the recent layoffs and turmoil on employee mental health?
The employees who are sticking around, whats the incentive?
Overall depends on which team you are in.
No incentive apart from annual compensation and a bunch of great minds

when is byjus going to throw it's towel and shut?
Sorry for your disappointment, that's not going to happen anytime soon.

I can see that happening in the foreseeable future. A company built on the very foundation of lies, fraud and thuggery cannot survive for long.

What are the real reasons for all the issues at the company?
I read your comments and I know you are doing good work in the tech team, but in the overall organisation, why do we hear it mostly in bad news?
Also, how are their finances lately, they have not filed regulatory filings yet, so would you know something about that?
And what's up with whitehat jr? I spoke to some people who said it's a sinking ship, was doing well before the founder exited, but now it's directionless and mismanaged
The primary reason for the issues is the numerous acquisitions made without adequate planning.
I suppose negative news tends to spread quickly.
Regarding filing, they are planning to submit the filing sometime between July and August.
Whitehat has been performing poorly and is currently burning significant cash. However, the company is planning to launch this in the US and Middle East markets.

Dont have anything against you, but i hope byjus sales and founders are put behind bars once the ship sinks, absolute fucking cheats. Education will become open source and not privatized, startups like udemy will succeed and as the Fed starts increasing the interest more and more funding will dry and hopefully byjus dies.

Why is the company such a dumpster ?
Does the non sales HR team still report to the family member of the founder? And is the CHRO still someone without any HR background? And does the HR team still not report to the CHRO?
Nope that's not the case now. The HR team reports to CHRO whose profile is really great.
Are the founders micromanaging everything, especially branding and marketing?
Are you facing issue hiring or retaining product / tech talent?
What does the product team work on now majorly?
Not hiring tech / product for quite some time now.
Mostly around Growth and better User engagement and retention.

Hey, Byju has significantly poor brand perception when it comes to end customers or potential employees.
What is the company doing to correct this perception?
I reckon I got a call for an interview sometime last year at a slightly senior level (75L+ LPA) but I walked out of the process after the 1st round only due to how the HR was coordinating and engaging.
When I saw the videos of byju curriculum in 2014 or 2015. I was in school in that year. I was so impressed. I still am . The best in the country. The sales need to be figured out, that's it. Game sorted. I would like to hear from you ? What's your take on it.
Is a video library worth subscribing to for 30-40k / year. Given Khan Academy is free and Youtube has numerous free innovative channels for school students.

What gives you the incentive to stay there? The company is delaying all bonuses and appraisals even after receiving 250 mil funding in May. Clearly company doesn't care much of its employees.

Why are the marketing and sales teams absolute frauds cheats and thugs ?
Some individuals, such as you, are spreading negative information about the company. However, it is important to note that Byjus has been actively creating employment opportunities for over 25,000 individuals directly and indirectly.

What according to you will make Ed tech profitable? Or is it a lost cause that only gained momentum during covid and then slowed back down?

Don’t you think it is an easy crutch to answer the hard questions with ‘I’m not from sales’? Those guys are at least bringing some credibility to the business model by showing some sales.
If the engineering and the product was good wouldn’t such infamous practices not be needed in the first place?
